Overview of the role
You will be accountable for business planning and commercial design finance for the region focused on Japan in Fabric & Home Care business unit. You will take a lead to design mid / long term Japan Fabric Care business strategy and financial glidepath by collaborating with multi-functional team. You will manage short-term financial result delivery and financial reporting by providing explanation of variances and key performance drivers and consolidation of business results to senior management. You will own initiative financial design including new product design with innovation, pricing strategy, and promotion strategy. You will provide insightful analysis to support business unit leaders by identifying financial improvement opportunities.
Your team
This role reports to the Finance Vice President and works closely with Marketing / Product Supply / Sales on financial planning, design work, and analysis.

- Demonstrate an ability to integrate the brand strategy, pricing, consumer position and profitability to recommend solutions to identify and deliver business growth opportunities.
- Seen as trusted finance manager to evaluate business issues, anticipant questions and demonstrate excellent analytical skills to optimize investment or handle risk.
Responsibilities of the role
- Provide financial leadership to key business partners in Regional Business Unit and Market Operations, across multi-functional teams.
- Lead financial analysis of initiative design, category plans, giving business recommendations to leaders.
- Lead in monthly regional financial forecast and support actual proofing.
- Lead in delivering high standards of stewardship in organisation and process workflow.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of proven track record in managing financial forecast and budget management across a matrix organization with high level of agility.
- Business proficiency in Japanese language and past working experience in Japan market for the consumer goods industry is preferred as the role requires local consumer understanding to develop brand equity and marketing strategies for the Japan market.
- Detailed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Maturity, integrity, and high level of discretion are required.
- Independent worker and analytical problem solver with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve problems.
- Financial modelling expertise a plus.
