Job Summary
As a Construction Engineer, is responsible for developing detailed construction plans under the guidance of the Site In-charge/Project Manager and ensuring seamless coordination of all site construction activities. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve project milestones efficiently and on schedule.
Job Scope
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing execution frameworks and defining work sequences.
- Developing plans for temporary facilities, manpower mobilization, and construction equipment.
- Preparing schedules in collaboration with the project scheduler, including progress monitoring.
- Conducting constructability studies and scaffolding plans.
- Preparing critical documents such as specifications, procedures, and manuals.
- Planning and executing heavy equipment erection and haulage.
- Overseeing HSSE compliance in collaboration with the HSSE team.
- Coordinating vendor specialist support when required
Duties & Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate subcontractors, clarify scopes, and manage cost negotiations and PO issuance.
- Verify bills of quantities (BQ), estimate construction costs, and clarify project execution plans.
- Conduct kick-off meetings with subcontractors to align execution plans, work scopes, and technical requirements.
- Perform constructability studies and create execution strategies in collaboration with engineering disciplines.
- Ensure the latest field drawings are applied and coordinate the preparation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA).
- Plan and schedule critical work paths with team members, subcontractors, and clients to avoid project delays.
- Supervise and monitor daily site activities, ensuring progress, quality control, and adherence to HSSE standards.
- Resolve technical issues, liaise with project stakeholders, and provide regular progress updates.
- Manage construction costs, monitor subcontractor billings, and evaluate variation orders.
- Submit weekly and monthly construction progress reports to management
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Mnimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in oil, gas, or chemical projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction planning, management tools and subcontracting practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and schedule reporting tools.
- Clear understanding of construction practices and methods of execution.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
