Roles and Responsibilities

• Admission of new patients to OR
• Ensure nursing care and able to relate with patient and relatives
• Manage patient files and records
• Prepare and perform all surgical procedures in a sterile manner, observing all principles of asepsis and sterility

• Conduct a full count of instruments and accessories before the start of an operation, after the closure of any major cavity, and the end of the operation

• Evaluating and preparing patients, providing education about surgery and recovery, and discussing the side effects of anesthesia with them
• Determining the amount and type of anesthesia needed for the patient and the best way to administer it.
• Preparing and administering the proper dose of anesthesia.
• Monitoring patients' vital signs and their dose of anesthesia during medical procedures.

· Responsible for ensuring the safe and effective administration of anaesthesia and monitoring of animals undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures e.g. MRI imaging. o Administer pain relief medications as prescribed and provide comfort to animals during recovery.

▪ Equipment Management

o Clean and perform regular maintenance checks of anaesthetic equipment and report any malfunctions or need for repairs.
