The Accountant will support the accounting team in work that is specific to accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax filing, data compilation, billing and other accounting tasks. The role will be responsible for managing accruals, fixed assets accounting and the month and year end accounts. The role will also assist the preparation of financial statements.

The role will report into the Financial Controller and work closely with the Finance team, Sales and Operations, Compliance and other departments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial processes in compliance with company standards and SG GAAP

The role will work closely with business, tech, operations, legal, and risk teams to conduct compliance assessments and provide compliance and risk mitigation requirements for new product development, geographical expansion, and changes to existing products. Governance

• Updating the AML policy and procedures on a periodic basis establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient.
• Developing the compliance framework for the business, including the application of compliance policies into operating procedures and guidelines; communicating these policies to all relevant business units.
• Dealing with MAS and any other regulators in relation to license applications.

Risk management

Operations

• Liaising with compliance teams in other jurisdictions to assist them with CDD and EDD procedures on request to manage the volume.
• Ensuring system updates when various watch lists are updated; testing systems to ensure updates are successful.
• Providing necessary advice to the customer support team in handling compliance-related issues with customers.

• Acting as the liaison officer for all internal audits (in relation to compliance), external compliance, and regulatory examinations.

Reporting

• Transaction reporting: filing annual compliance reports, suspicious transaction reports, and others as needed to regulators (e.g. MSO, HKMA).
• Regular reporting on key compliance metrics to senior management.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of compliance experience in payments, fintech, banking, or other financial areas.
• Experience in managing compliance programs for regulated e-payments, e-commerce, or related activities.
• Basic knowledge of AML/KYC compliance, financial regulatory compliance, compliance testing, fraud detection and mitigation, auditing, and regulatory issues.

What can you bring to the team?

• Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, marine science, ecology, environmental science, or related disciple, with min. 10 years of relevant experience in the marine and coastal related projects. Prior experience in consultancy would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of the marine planning system, tropical coastal and marine ecosystem in particular mangroves, seagrass, corals and other coastal flora and fauna, biodiversity, conservation, biodiversity strategies, nature-based solutions, etc, with strong emphasis in Singapore. Experience in managing and leading marine related projects would be advantageous.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to work with external stakeholders (ie. clients, contractors, government agencies, NGOs etc)
• Understanding of safety protocol for safety dive works with at least 100 scientific logged dives and proven skills and experience in conducting underwater marine habitat survey are preferred.
• Experience in terrestrial ecosystem survey, water quality, and oceanographic instrumentation would be advantageous.
• Have the fluency in English, experience in ecological field sampling method, scientific and technical writing, and statistical analysis of data using statistical program / tools. Knowledge in one or more Asian languages and proficiency in ArcGIS would be an added advantage.

Job Description

The Consultant is responsible to develop software based on design requirements and ensure software and subroutines are working to specification, program codes have conformed to standards and are delivered with quality meeting schedule and requirements.

Project Delivery

• Analyse process/program specifications & translate specifications to program codes, conforming to program guidelines and programming best practices

• Make changes to configurable items, which include hardware, software, documentation, etc. It covers configuration management planning, configuration identification, configuration controls & audits.
