Job Purpose
This position is responsible for the planning and execution of the various initiatives of the Centre of Excellence for Pandemic Preparedness. The role involves a combination of public health implementations, project management and stakeholder engagement to drive impactful pandemic preparedness efforts in the region.
Job Responsibilities
1. Outreach and Implementation:
● Organise and execute activities that align with the Centre’s goal of enhancing pandemic preparedness efforts within Southeast Asia, ensuring their success and relevance.
● Plan and implement initiatives aimed at engaging a broad audience in pandemic preparedness efforts, including the dissemination of information and expertise
2. Project Management:
● Provide assistance and support in the implementation of training, workshops and dialogues focused on pandemic preparedness for the Southeast Asia National Societies.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
● Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders to enhance the impact and reach of the Center's pandemic preparedness initiatives.
4. Volunteer Management
● Mobilise volunteers in the planning and execution of activities
● Engage and develop volunteers to become active agents for Pandemic Preparedness efforts
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Infectious Diseases, Emergency Management, Community Resilience), fresh graduates are welcome
● Some knowledge and understanding of disease prevention, surveillance outbreaks and/or health policy is preferred.
● Demonstrated some experience in organising and managing events and training.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal and
external stakeholders.
Additional Skills, Knowledge & Requirements:
● Possess good understanding of the geo-political relations of the world and cross-cultural sensitivity
● Possess excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with good command of English
● Good presentation and report writing skills
● Able to work Independently and a good team player
● Resourceful and takes initiative
● Good with computer programmes like MS Office and Google Applications
● Passionate about humanitarian work and interested in the work of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement
● Candidate may be asked to travel on occasion in order to successfully manage projects and events
● Comfortable traveling to harsh conditions, can work in different cultural settings
