The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring kitchen operations run on optimal equipment health for the supply of daily meals to Prisons. He/she will provide planning support to ensure the smooth execution of facility services in line with workplace safety standards and is responsible for the equipment and facilities in the kitchen, ensuring that they are maintained, serviced & repaired for the efficient operation of the 3 kitchen workshops.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and directly supervise maintenance contractors in administering the preventive and recovery maintenance programme for kitchen equipment daily.
• To ensure the availability of equipment for production through preventive maintenance and scheduled maintenance. Examples of equipment, Combi oven, Tilting Pan, Ware wash machine.
• To improve the equipment efficiency, safety, and output quality by carrying out appropriate modifications for the machinery or changing some repair and maintenance methods and procedures.
• To perform maintenance and repair of equipment and troubleshoot equipment’s faults.
• To prolong the life span of equipment or expensive parts by proper regular preventive maintenance.
• To be responsible for the safety of maintenance staff.
• Maintain all workshop tools and equipment in an orderly manner.
• To maximize production capacity, productivity, and quality.
• In addition to equipping inmates with technical skills, cultivate the right values, attitudes, and positive mindsets.
• Plan, liaise, and provide direct supervision for tasks assigned to contractors during kitchen closures.
• Work with maintenance contractors to ensure proper storage, inventory, and adequate stock level is maintained for spare parts.
• Coordinate with Kitchen Operations for the conduct of monthly facility services such as kitchen cleaning, pest control, and floor/grease trap cleaning.
• Work with contractors to troubleshoot maintenance-related issues and provide remedial recommendations.
• Ensure contractors comply with Prison’s security regulations for the management of tools and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
• Facilitate Workplace Safety and Health monthly inspections and jointly follow through with Kitchen Operations on recommendations provided by WHSO.
• Ensure proper follow-up and record keeping for quotation of spare parts, service reports and timely and accurate submission of monthly invoices.
• Work with maintenance contractors to submit the annual conditional assessment and monthly overall health status of kitchen equipment.
• Raise requests and draft equipment specifications by liaising with vendors/contractors for new equipment or spare parts purchases.
• Conduct administrative support for maintenance-related functions.

Key Requirements

• Technical experience in Commercial Kitchen setting
• Mechanical Engineering experience

Other Requirements

• Diploma in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or ITC in electronics
• 2-3 years of experience in similar roles and industry
• Experience in managing multiple groups of contracted vendors.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and facilities management, welding, and Cooling system preferred
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, electronic, and related problems and being able to read all the above drawings
• Preferably know how to read Auto-Cad and Line Drawing

• Perform set-up, calibration, programming, operation of automated welding, or laser machining that meets engine component repair requirements.

Responsible for performing metallurgical preparation and evaluation of various type of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair. You will also be responsible to perform mechanical testing on the coating specimen.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare the sample for mechanical testing
• Prepare the sample for metallurgical evaluation
• Operate and maintain metallurgical Lab equipment
• Adhere to laboratory procedures when operating Lab equipment
• Perform incoming inspection of controlled material if required

Job Purpose

Operator in Laundry operation to process soiled linen and prepare cleaned linen for delivery according to customers’ specification and requirement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

· Operate laundry’s machinery and equipment according to the operating manual.

· Sort soiled linen according to specification before washing process.

· Conduct quality control on cleaned linen before delivery according to quality standards.

· Packing linen for hospitals’ Operating Theatre and CSSD department according to hospitals’ specification.

· Remove any unacceptable linen (stained/torn/poor finishing) and foreign object detected during process.

· Loading washed linen and unloading of soiled linen from laundry vehicles daily.

· Wash and sanitizing of linen trolleys daily where applicable.

· Check, count and prepare delivery order for cleaned linen before delivery.

· Perform job rotation as required

· Able to perform shift work and working on weekend and Public Holidays.

· Able to perform duty at customers’ site on soiled linen collection and distribute cleaned linen when required.

· Follow WSH practices and regulations. Identify and recognize workplace risks and hazards if any.

· Surrender any cash/valuable items found during process and hand over to supervisor on duty
