The Opportunity
This is an exciting chance to join a dynamic and high-performing BU Technology Team at McDonald’s. You will be reponsibile for leading the evolution of our technology landscape for McDonald’s in Asia across IDL markets within the region.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, CIO ASIA & LATAM, you will be at the forefront of driving technology-related engagement and executing innovative technology programs. Your contribution will shape the future of technology within McDonald's markets across this dynamic and challenging region.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Asia and tapping into the knowledge from our Global Technology teams, you will need to establish seamless alignment and create a technology adoption plan in partnership with our Developmental Licensee (DL) partners in Asia.
We're seeking an self-motivated leader, someone with a true passion for all things technology and a natural ability to influence senior leaders within our organization. This will be instrumental in gaining their commitment and driving exceptional results through securing long-term commitment to invest.
What will my accountabilities be?
Market, BU, and Global Technology Alignment
· Serve as the primary liaison between McDonald's Asia markets and Global Technology solutions, practices, standards, and platforms while fostering strong relationships.
· Ensure market needs, plans, and commitments are aligned with the deployment capacity offered by globally approved suppliers and partners.
· Collaborate with the Vendor Management Office (VMO) and legal teams to facilitate commercial agreements with third-party suppliers, acting as an escalation point for markets and the business unit.
· Partner with the business unit to develop a multi-year technology roadmap that supports the business goals.
· Manage expectations of the business unit and markets regarding the availability and capabilities of the Global Technology solutions.
· Regularly review and influence organizational needs at the market level and within Global Technology, including succession plans and identifying missing capabilities.
Technology Planning and Adoption
· Drive the adoption of Global Technology standards and solutions across Asia markets.
· Lead the annual planning exercise in collaboration with the Global Technology team, business unit and markets.
· Track deployment efforts, proactively manage risks, and address challenges to ensure the success of the technology deployment program.
· Adjust commitments as needed and seek alignment with leadership.
· Monitor and track the progress of markets in adopting various global solutions, such as core restaurant solutions, hardware, and operating systems.
Communication
· Regularly share information about the global technology solution portfolio and technology standards, ensuring alignment with market business plans and addressing any legal considerations for the Asian DLs.
· Proactively communicate the latest information to market leadership, providing updates on a regular cadence and facilitating their participation in global events, such as CIO meetings and GTRM summits.
· Deliver clear and effective communications regarding the annual planning process, technology pricing guide, and the latest technology standards.
Governance
· Guide governance processes with various organizations to make informed technology decisions, manage adjustments, and mitigate technology risks.
· Manage relationships and conduct regular reviews with 3rd party technology suppliers, ensuring effective governance.
· Contribute to the market quarterly business reviews and DL business reviews to provide valuable insights and support decision-making.
· Provide support to global internal audit initiatives as required.

What background do I need to have?
· Strong track record in building and deploying technology strategy and roadmaps across a large and complex multi-disciplinary business:
- Translating Corporate vision into a robust strategy
- Exposure to deloying technology solutions across multiple markets and geographices
- Adept at analysing data to drive and create robust strategic outcomes and opportunites
· Broad knowledge and understanding of multiple technical displines across infrastructure, security, development and payments
· Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills – adept at building strong relationships to deliver multually beneficial outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
o Inc. experience of working with 3rd party vendors & franchises.
· General understanding of restaurant operations and consumer experiences - ideally McDonald's
· Good understanding of and experience in product development and deployment processes for technology solutions
Desirable:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· MBA is a plus or experience in similar roles
