Fellowship in Vascular Surgery

The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, National University Hospital is seeking candidates for our fellowship in Vascular Surgery under National University Heart Centre, Singapore. We are a 1,400 bed hospital with full range of vascular surgery services. There are 6 Consultant surgeons in the vascular division. We have an aortic center which offer full range of open, endovascular as well as hybrid surgery and both cardiac and vascular surgeons worked closely together. The vascular unit performs over 1,600 procedures in all aspect of vascular surgery. The fellowship will be at registrar/senior registrar level and you are expected to do on call at frequency of 1:4 Rota to 1:5.

We welcome international candidates who have previous vascular experience and looking for further opportunities to enhance their vascular and endovascular skills. As we are an academic unit of vascular surgery, fellows are expected to participate in research and teaching. What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure that safe and environmental friendly operation is prioritized by ship’s staff onboard assigned ships

· Verify, through inspection of logbooks, onboard filing systems and records and by reviewing the latest Vetting and audit reports, as well as personal observations that the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems are in place and functioning properly on his assigned vessels and report deficiencies as per procedures

· Evaluate the performance and condition of the ship and its SMT (recommend training, placement, assignment and hiring of SMT member in consultation with Sea Personnel and the Fleet Manager)

· Participate in task groups responsible for improving the policy and procedures of the company and streamlining the work of the ships/Superintendent (encourage all reporting to you to make suggestions for improvement, bring these suggestions up to the proper level of management and give recognition to those who contribute)

· Share knowledge and experience with other Superintendents, departments and the Service Team to optimize the company safety records and thus its results

Job Purpose

The WREF & EHS, Site Lead is responsible for the management and delivery of workplace, infrastructure and services at the commercial sites encompassing Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, and ensuring that these supports and facilitate all business operations.
