We are looking for a research fellow for the project on ultraprecision fabrication of functional components with additive manufacturing and micro-scale surface treatment. The candidate is expected to lead an independent internationally research group in his field and be competitive for external research funding. Research Engineer position in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS).

With a strong focus on industrial projects, we are developing our exciting technologies beyond the lab scale. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual with expertise in material chemistry and chemical engineering to join us.

As a Research Engineer, you will contribute to industry project focusing on scaling up our electro-metallurgical battery recycling technology from lab to pilot scale. Your major focus will be developing a process to synthesize precursor materials (pCAM) with extracted metals from spent battery materials.

• Lead pCAM synthesis processes at the R&D and pilot scale by working in collaboration with engineering team.
• Able to establish process design and synthesis rules to obtain precursors with optimal composition, interfacial properties, crystal structure, particle size, morphology, and electrochemical characteristics.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor or Master in Materials science and engineering, Chemical engineering, Material chemistry, or any relevant field.
2. Minimum of 2 yrs experience in MHP, pCAM synthesis (precipitation, crystallization).
3. Prior experience in process development and piloting new technologies is highly preferred.
4. Experience with material characterization techniques like SEM/EDS, ICP, XRD, FTIR.
5. Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and interpretation.
