Professor John Chambers is the Toh Kian Chui Professor of Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Programme Director of the Population and Global Health Research Programme at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University. He is also the Chief Scientific Officer for the National Precision Medicine Programme. His research programme aims to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes and premature cardiovascular disease in Asian populations, and to translate these findings into new approaches for improved prevention and early detection of these major chronic diseases.

His research team is hiring a Research Assistant to provide research support to his research programme to develop stratified approaches for health promotion and therapeutic intervention, in particularly for type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading / Quality check of the Carotid artery intima media thickness (CIMT) measurements and / or retinal images based on a given protocol.
• Generate reports on the findings. Able to handle, escalate and report incidental findings to study PIs.
• Assess and give suggestions to improve measurements and / or images quality. Keep inventory of measurements and / or images.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation / records of all readings performed and strategies undertaken to improve the measurements and / or images.
• Contribute to the production of research reports and/or publications.
• Assist in co-ordination of project-related meetings, taking down summary of meeting, etc.
• Undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.

Key Competencies and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, biotechnology or related fields
• Skills in using statistical and / or bioinformatics software, Microsoft software will be advantageous.
• Excellent trouble shooting, organization skills, and problem solving skills are also required as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare group consolidation, financial report and financial analysis.
• Prepare and submit of consolidated monthly financial reports.
• Oversee the accounts of subsidiaries companies within the Group to ensure timely monthly closing and reporting.
• Statistics / survey preparation and submission
• Provide accounting advice to colleagues and associate companies to ensure common application of accounting guideline, policies and procedures.

Requirements :-

• Degree/Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 5 years working experience in accounting, audit and/or handling group consolidation.
• Experience in ERP system implementation is a plus.
• Worked in accounting firm with an audit background is a plus.

We are looking for a Research Fellow who will be based in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and will be expected to work effectively for developing innovative low-carbon soil improvement techniques. The position is expected to perform independent and collaborative research on the fundamental engineering properties of the biocemented soils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting research on advanced laboratory soil testing and other related research work
• Producing project progress reports and papers with the quality matching high factor impact journals
• Assisting in the development of research proposals that could be funded externally.
• Collaborating with other team members on other research tasks in the Centre.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in geotechnical engineering or related discipline
• Expertise in advanced laboratory soil mechanics testing
• Knowledge in advanced soil mechanics, advanced soil testing and biocementation based ground improvement
• At least 2 years of relevant experiences in advanced soil mechanics and biocementation
• Familiarity with triaxial test, small strain hollow cylinder soil test and other soil engineering property laboratory test
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and develop solutions under strict timelines
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
