Job Summary:
Housekeeper supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and facilities are cleaned and maintained to high standards.
This role involves supervising and training housekeeping staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow. The supervisor also monitors inventory levels of cleaning supplies, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and addresses any guest concerns or requests related to housekeeping services. Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential for this role, as well as the ability to manage a team and maintain a positive work environment.
Job Description:
● Assign daily cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff and monitor their performance;
● Train and mentor new employees on cleaning protocols and use of equipment;
● Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals, standards, and updates;
● Address and resolve any staff-related issues or conflicts;
● Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and workspaces;
● Conduct routine inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and quality standards;
● Manage and update cleaning schedules based on occupancy or operational needs;
● Coordinate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, front desk) to address specific requests or issues;
● Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, such as cleaning products, linens, and toiletries;
● Place orders to restock inventory and ensure cost-effective usage of materials;
● Maintain records of inventory levels and expenditures;
● Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations;
● Provide staff with proper training on the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment;
● Address and report any maintenance or safety hazards promptly;
● Respond to guest complaints or special requests related to housekeeping services;
● Work to ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of cleanliness;
● Address lost-and-found items and ensure proper procedures are followed; and
● Any other duties as required by the Company or management.
Job Requirements:
● Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper, with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and safety protocol.
● Related experience in a hotel or residential services as a housekeeper is preferred.
● Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance and attention to detail.
● Customer-oriented and friendly.
● Prioritization and time management skills.
● Time sensible without compromising quality.
● Good communication skills.
