Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and pitching the project cost to clients on behalf of SM inline with business plan of SM
• Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings.
• Monitor project progress and track costs against budget, identifying and reporting any variances or potential issues. Control and mitigate risks related to cost overruns w.r.t estimates or savings plan
• Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
• Prepare claims for variations or additional works, and negotiate settlement with clients and contractors.
• Participate in project meetings, providing cost and contractual advice to project managers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project cost records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present final accounts and claims, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.

What we Expect

• You are a QS professional with a minimum 7 years of relevant experience managing corporate/ workplace interior fit-out projects.
• Cost Estimation Skills: You have experience in creating accurate cost estimates for construction projects, using appropriate methods and tools, and taking into account factors such as labor, materials, equipment, overhead costs, and contingencies.
• Technical Knowledge: You possess a solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and systems to accurately evaluate project costs and assess potential risks.

• Communication Skills: You be able to effectively communicate cost-related information to various stakeholders, such as project managers, clients, and suppliers.

• Computer Skills: You have experience with relevant software applications, such as cost estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools. And you have experience in successfully adopting digital and technology initiatives.
• Attention to Detail: You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and accurately reflected in project estimates.
• Cost Control: You be able to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control project costs while maintaining quality standards.
• You have a diploma or degree in quantity surveying/ construction management or a related discipline.
• You have the knowledge of individual trades and subcontractors relevant to interior fit-outs
• You are tech-savvy, and have experience in successfully adopting digital and technology initiatives.
• You have the ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising on quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• At least a bachelor's degree in engineering / chemistry / science.
• At least 2 years of experience in leadership/manager roles with direct subordinates. Familiar with performance appraisal and evaluation for promotion.
• Good hands-on attitude with track record in positive customer feedback.
• Good at managing team dynamics and operational challenges, able to resolve issues without escalation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in situational reporting in English.
• Able to perform data analysis using Excel Pivot / Power BI to make strategic decisions.
• Possesses a logical thinking approach to analyze technical issues, be proactive and diligent in resolving challenges.
