The lab of RNA in Disease and Translational Technologies at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR, Singapore is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist to join a team developing a ribozyme-based RNA platform for potential translational and/or clinical applications.

The work will involve both in vitro and in vivo techniques, including molecular biology (RNA design, in vitro transcription, cell-free RNA assays, RT-qPCR, molecular cloning), cell biology (cell culture, cell transfection, flow cytometry, antisense oligonucleotides and RNAi, CRISPR), high-resolution imaging techniques, and experiments in mouse models (e.g. transgenesis, in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry, imaging and functional analyses)

Requirements

• Minimum Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Neuroscience or a related discipline.
• The successful candidate should have strong expertise in RNA biology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, a strong publication record that includes a first author research paper, and strong scientific writing skills.
• They should be creative, highly motivated, conscientious and be able to work independently, with good organisational, verbal and interpersonal skills. Our lab is collaborative and interdisciplinary, and the successful candidate should be able to work effectively and harmoniously in a diverse team.

Summary

The OT Cyber Security Engineers is working in billion-dollar scale projects to safely and securely deliver the Digitalisation Strategy for our FPSO Facilities. Digital innovation requires operational technology (OT) systems to interact more and more with information technology (IT) systems. With the convergence of OT and IT Systems and network components comes increased Cyber security threats requiring focused attention and management.

You will be focusing on implementing and maintaining a defence in depth security posture and securely connecting previously isolated Systems and Equipment within OT networks to the Enterprise IT environment.

Additionally, to the OT integration piece, you will assist with the development and sustainment of robust processes and methodologies for data handling, which in-turn assists the management of tactical and strategic interactions between Technology & Autonomy and other business units across the organization.

Introduction

ETH Zurich is one of the leading universities of the world with a strong focus on science and engineering. In 2010 it established the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF) to do interdisciplinary research on pressing problems.

In collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Duke - NUS, the National Health Group (NHG), National University Health System (NUHS), and SingHealth, SEC is undertaking a research programme on "Future Health Technologies (FHT)". It addresses some immanent health challenges by developing a future-oriented Mobile Digital Health Conceptthat tackles the increase in patients suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity and stroke, as a consequence of a rapidly ageing population with mobile digital technologies, covering the value chain from acute care to patient's private homes.

Project Background

The healthcare systems of the future must effectively harness data to empower clinicians so that they can focus on delivering patient care while leveraging AI to uncover patterns beyond human capacity to detect, enhance diagnostic accuracy, optimize workflows, and improve risk communication. For effectively utilizing AI to achieve this end, access to large datasets from clinical practice remains a challenge as data privacy can prevent the transfer of sensitive data from sites of collection to large compute infrastructure. One approach for overcoming this in development of AI models for health, is federated analysis that has only been utilized for this purpose to a limited extent. For widespread use of federated methods, software infrastructure is needed that can handle diverse data sources as well as for optimizing model training across different consumer hardware.

One area of particular interest for research on AI for health is seamless incorporation of scientific models (which frequently are image-based) into AI toolchains. Examples for use of such models in health research are e.g. CFD models for cardiovascular applications and FE models in musculoskeletal health assessment. Merging scientific modelling technologies with other important data sources from clinical practice will allow researchers to leverage established laws and insights to drive the development of sophisticated learned models that can revolutionize diagnosis and care.

With this project, we aim to develop robust infrastructure that supports large-scale, expert-driven scientific endeavours, ensuring the effective application of AI in the field of musculoskeletal health. Focus will be on the seamless integration of advanced model-based biomechanical markers of bone health into AI workflows.

Requirements

Successful candidates will hold a PhD degree and strong background in computer science, mathematics (especially optimization), parallel computing, compilers, (performance) optimization, and/or computer systems. Candidates should be able to work (mostly) independently on a complex topic and must be highly motivated. Since our research topics are related to different fields (mathematics, computer science, computational science) candidates should be able to learn quickly and study topics independently. Good C/C++ and Python knowledge, and experience in software development as well as willingness and ability to work formally are required. Some background in parallel computing or high-performance computing is desirable. Experience in using software-engineering tools such as git and common associated development processes is required as well as knowledge of Bayesian methods and their applications in machine learning. Applicants need to be proficient in written and spoken English.

Job Description

The Minimum Viable Product Studio (MVP Studio) of NUS Enterprise, Technology Transfer and Innovation, supports NUS startups in their prototyping journey by providing industry know-how and technical guidance in the productization of intellectual property. We are seeking a versatile mechanical design engineer with market-proven expertise in product design and development, to join our team as a Master Engineer (Mechanical Design).

As a Master Engineer (Mechanical Design), you will guide NUS startups through the mechanical design and development process. You will support the prototyping phase of NUS startups, including generating mechanical concept proposals and mechanical architecture, implementing detailed design using 3D modelling and 2D drawings, and ensuring full design integration at system level. You will collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver robust mechanical design solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prototype Design & Development

• Generate mechanical concepts and provide mechanical architecture.

Technical Advisor to NUS Startups for Mechanical Design & Development

• ​​​​​​​Facilitate startups in prototyping their mechanical designs.

Vendor Management

• Work with vendors on DFM for the required mechanical designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Market-proven mechanical 3D design experience in consumer products, automotive/industrial products, or medtech/healthtech instrumentation, with at least 12-15 years’ combined experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling, preferably in Pro-Engineer/Creo and Solidworks.
• Experience in casting, plastics molding, sheet metal design, and 3D printing.

Operations Executive

Responsibilities:

• Deal with clients and ship-owners relating to post-fixtures, ensure proper follow-up and update on daily operations .

Job Description

· Contribute to high-quality research and development work in TCOMS laboratory through physical experiments including:

o design of scaled physical test models, such as maritime vessels, offshore rigs, marine renewable platforms, and aquaculture systems for testing in TCOMS Ocean Basin.
