Job Description
The BIM Modeler is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining engineering designs and models to ensure structural drawings and specifications align with project requirements. This role involves utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to produce precise 3D models, manage design data, and support the project team in visualizing and coordinating the design intent across multiple construction projects. The BIM Modeler ensures models adhere to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to drive project success.
Job Responsibilities
BIM Model Creation and Updates:
· Assist in developing and revising BIM models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
· Regularly update models based on project changes and feedback.
Preparation of Drawings and Documents:
· Use BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit) to prepare preliminary, construction, and as-built drawings.
· Create detailed design documents to support various project stages.
Collaboration with Project Team:
· Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure smooth communication and coordination between disciplines.
· Support Project Engineers and Managers at different stages of the project.
Staying Updated with Technology:
· Continuously enhance skills and stay current with evolving drafting and BIM technologies to maintain proficiency.
Drawing and Drafting:
· Create and modify detailed plans and drawings for structures and construction projects, interpreting sketches or notes from other team members.
Document Reproduction and Delivery:
· Prepare drawings for reproduction using various methods, ensuring they meet specified standards and are ready for distribution or use.
Material Calculation:
· Calculate material quantities and cost estimates based on design requirements and input these details into materials lists.
Explanation and Adjustment of Drawings:
· Provide clear explanations of drawings to the production or construction teams, making adjustments to designs as needed.
Job Requirements
- Min. 3 years of related working experience
- Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of construction processes and project management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve conflicts in BIM models
- Familiarity with BIM standards and procedures
- Proactive and ability to meet deadline
- Able to work independently and productively under minimal supervision
