Job responsibilities:
· Develop new concepts which are innovative and meet either the market trends or specific customer briefs
· Source, review and optimise new and existing ingredients used in the preparation of applied samples for demonstration to customers
· Stay up to date with new developments in ingredients and application technologies
· Ensure that the applications lab is kept in a safe, clean, and hygienic work condition at all times
· Maintenance of lab supplies and equipment, procuring market samples as needed for projects
· Organise the maintenance, cleaning and servicing of laboratory equipment as recommended by the equipment manufacturers
· Prepare and conduct evaluation sessions as part of a cross functional team
· Liaise/collaborate with relevant departments on development of new flavours and concepts
· Work with Sales and Regional Marketing to assess and develop new concepts based on market demands
· Ensure developments are following defined legal, religious and customer requirements
· Coach and train junior team members.
· Provide support in the training of customers
Required Skills
· Able to work on NPD independently
· Have 5 to 8 years experience in a similar position
· Effective team player with excellent communication skills
· Strong project and time management skills
· Possess technical understanding and practical know-how in beverages, bakery and confectionery
· Excellent taste, discrimination and articulation - ingredients, flavours and applications

Academic Qualification
Diploma or Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or Chemical Process or related field
