JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze sales/purchasing data to provide deeper insight on future market trends andfor decision making.
• Conduct cost analyses to determine the total cost of ownership and assess cost-saving opportunities.
• Find and evaluate new sources for products, value-add services and contractor jobs
• Support sales with managing subcontractors and vendors for various projects.
• Manage material master data including the creation of new part numbers and BoM items.
• Coordinate with the sales and customer service team to place new orders with various factories.
• Conduct regular price negotiation with factories and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Follow up on all open orders, pull in/push out the deliveries as and when required.
• Liaise with factories/suppliers on products quality issues, short-shipment claims and replacement.
• Propose and plan buffer/safety stocks to meet customers/projects demands.
• Forecast and demand planning for both series and project business
• Identifying areas for process improvement within the procurement function and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Any other duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in Procurement.
• Possess minimum Diploma in any discipline.
Experience with subcontractor management and/or project procurement is not mandatory but considered an advantage.
JOB-RELATED SKILLS & PRE-REQUISITES
• Understanding of procurement processes, including requisition, sourcing, negotiation, purchase orders, and supplier management.
• Understanding of supply chain dynamics and how external factors can impact the availability and cost of goods and services.
• Ability to build win-win relationships with factories and suppliers while protecting company’s interests.
• Proficiency in cost analysis to assess the total cost of ownership, considering not only the initial purchase price but also factors like transportation, storage and insurance.
• Effective communication skills for conveying requirements, negotiating terms and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in analyzing data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
• Able to work independently and eager to take on new topics and challenges.
Proficient with SAP (B1 Hana & R3 Preferred).
