Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Client Consultation:

3. Investment Management:

4. Risk Management:

· Plan for risk management through diversification and other strategies.

5. Retirement Planning:

· Help clients prepare for retirement by assessing income needs and planning accordingly.

· Advise on pension plans, IRAs, 401(k)s, and other retirement options.

6. Ongoing Client Support:

· Regularly review and update financial plans based on clients' changing needs.

· Provide continuous advice and support to clients regarding financial decisions.

7. Regulatory Compliance:

· Ensure that all financial advice and actions comply with current laws and regulations.

· Maintain necessary licenses and certifications.

Experience/Requirements:

1. Educational Background:

· A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.

· Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) can be advantageous but are not always required.

2. Licensing:

· Necessary licenses include SCI M5, M9, M9A, HI (SG specific) to sell basic financial products like insurance & investments.

· M8, M8A, M6 licensing for selling CIS/Securities products, if applicable.

3. Certifications:

· Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is highly valued.

· Other certifications like Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) may also be beneficial.

4. Experience:

· Typically, 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, investment advisory, or a related role.

· Experience working with financial software and tools is often required.

5. Skills:

· Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and trends.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.

· Ethical decision-making and adherence to fiduciary responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, process incoming and outgoing, and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of all warehouse transactions, including receipts, and returns.
• Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse staff, suppliers, and customers to address any issues or discrepancies.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports from system.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse.
• Support: Provide administrative support to the operations manager and assist in other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or administrative role preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Role purpose

The Loss Prevention Senior Executive uses knowledge and experience to enhance our risk selection capabilities and contributes towards a reduced number of claims.

Working in collaboration with our Geo and Specialty Sectors you’ll establish strong working relationships internally and externally with our members and clients.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the goals or targets of the geosector(s) or specialty(ies) area to which you are assigned.
• Using the benchmark/review process to assess the LP risk profile of members/clients and to share this information with relevant parts of the business e.g. UW function and Geosectors.
• To assist with internal and external delivery of the LP enquiry service.
• Supporting the claims function with technical, and operational input.
• Engaging regularly with members/clients to promote positive changes to their organisation that will assist them with reducing the number of incidents that may give rise to claims. It will also give you a better understanding of the risks the business poses to NorthStandard and support the risk selection capability of the business. This may or may not form part of a LP review process.
• Providing members/clients with the tools, services and knowledge that support positive changes to their organisations.
• To provide LP input on recommendations made to your geosector or specialty by the survey team.
• Contributing to and/or leading projects, workstreams, publications and other activities as directed by the Global Head of Loss Prevention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• In-charge of entire new building/ modification projects, i.e., from conceptualization, designing/ plan preparation, negotiation and selection of yard/ maker, Class approvals, ship construction/ modification and delivery, of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Yard In-charge and supervision of newbuilding projects in China / Korea / Japan yards for various types of Vessels and fuel systems.
• Understanding of EUETS / EUMRV and ensuring compliance with these regulations in the fleet.
• Monitoring IMO updates on Decarb regulations and implementation of such regulations in the fleet.
• Keep abreast of all the new regulations applicable to the fleet vessels and ensure effective and timely implementation.

• Attend the repair / modification / dry docking of vessels as and when required by the management to identify any gaps and implementation of the desired improvements.
• Inspection of the fleet vessels on a regular basis to identify the common defects and/ or areas for improvement. Conduct training of shore and ship staff on key technical issues and for enhancing the safety culture and machinery reliability.
• Support technical department in upkeep of the technical circulars/ recommendation/ modification repository from the makers of key machinery, such as main engine, auxiliary engines, auxiliary boilers etc and assist them in designing and developing the Planned Maintenance System for these machineries.
• Maintain contact with classification societies, shipyards, repair firms, industry groups, trade associations, equipment manufacturers and designers, government bodies and other organizations to carry out the assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Identify trends (issues / challenges) from fleet’s structural and machinery maintenance and / or operations. Assist technical department in designing/ developing and implementation of mitigating/ preventive measures.
• Assist the Technical Superintendent / Fleet Manager in any major breakdown till its rectification and completion of Root cause analysis.
• Contribute and support company’s (SIMS) R&D team for technical projects.
• Assist the Corporate Compliance Manager (CCM) with the implementation of the Engineering Requirements as required by Environmental Compliance Program standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Educational Qualification should be at least a in Naval Architecture or Maritime Safety.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in shipping in a position of increasing responsibility for New Building, Ship Repairs / modifications, Dry Docking, including a minimum of eight (8) years in the shipbuilding.
• Newbuilding/project management experience in China, preferably in LNG, chemical tanker, Bulk Carrier and Offshore Vessels.
• Newbuilding / project management experience in Dual Fuel Vessels, esp., in LNG, Methanol.
• Knowledge of Energy Management Systems and / or energy conservation methods is an added advantage
• Knowledge of IMO updates on Decarb regulations and implementation of such regulations for the upcoming projects.
• Preferably not have changed companies during last 5 years.
