Project management and service delivery

We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Platform/DevOps) to join us! This will be on a 3 year contract (subjected to extension).

You will be working on:

• Be the DevOps Subject Matter Expert in the Engineering team by defining and evolving Build and Release best practices, ensuring the system compliance to the highest of standards and meeting the requirements for high availability, resiliency, scalability, and security throughout the DevOps lifecycle.
• Provide DevOps architecture implementation, operation support and documentation.
• Participate in automation initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiencies and reduce hosting cost.
• Enhance and drive automation delivery.
• Participating in technical discussion with existing & potential clients and internal teams,
• Participate in research and development to deliver complex on-premises solution
• Mentoring and guiding junior team members, whilst fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Develop, operate, and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines, as well as centrally hosted components including system monitoring tools of performance, utilization, and health.
• System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, Platform Team, Solution Architects and development teams to design, develop, optimize, and implement scalable features for higher developer productivity, environment monitoring, self-healing, and autonomous delivery.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience as DevOps engineer with expertise in designing and implementing complex IaaS and DevOps solutions.
• 5 years of experience in On-Prem ( preferred ) and Cloud platforms mainly on automation of Infrastructure configuration and management
• Sound knowledge in DevOps development techniques, such as CI/CD and Agile, for both native and cloud applications
• Proficient in building and managing highly available and scalable IT infrastructure, with knowledge on Container/Virtualization such as Kubernetes, version control tools such as Bitbucket and Continuous integration and deployment tools such as Bamboo, Jira, Nexus, Confluence
• Proficiency with at least one of these languages: Python/PowerShell/Ruby
• Design, implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code platforms with strong focus on Chef for configuration management
• Deploy and manage monitoring tools of infrastructure performance, utilization, and health.
• Experience with patch maintenance, regression testing and security incident response.
• Ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
• Knowledge on coding and scripting to achieve Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Infrastructure Automation
• Chef Certified Practitioner and / or Chef Certified Specialist certification or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Have the technical skill to review, verify and validate the software code developed in the project.
• Experienced in leading infrastructure procurement and implementation in government sector is an added advantage.
• Able to work independently and deliver results within specified deadlines
• Should have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with users, vendors and management.
• Define standards and processes for monitoring one or more multiple DevSecOps services
