Roles & Responsibilities
· Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants and sweet rolls
· Sets time and speed controls for mixing machines, or blending machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions
· Measures or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs or fillings using scales or graduated containers
· Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
· Prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods
· Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
· Lines up baked products in mobile carts according to the needs of the outlets or functions
· Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures proper storage and refrigeration
· Collaborate with other bakers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
· Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products
· Cleans, breaks down, and puts away all baking equipment including ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, and refrigerators
· Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices
Requirements
· Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role
· Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, oven and dough sheeters
· Understanding of food safety practices
· Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
· Flexibility to work in rotating shifts
