OUR STORY

Keef the Beef is one of Singapore's home-grown restaurant for quality steak dinners. Founded by Keith and his wife Jeanne during the COVID pandemic lockdown, it began as a passion project in their kitchen before moving to a modest outlet in a residential neighbourhood and eventually expanding into a full-fledged restaurant serving a range steak. From USDA, Australian, New Zealand and Argentinian steak cuts.

Keef the Beef’s signature dish "The PL" was inspired by the legendary Peter Luger-style butter broiled steak cooked at high temperature. The occurring maillard reaction* sweetens the steak and creates the multi-dimensional flavour.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

CHEF DE PARTIE

· Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant.

· Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.

Fellowship in Vascular Surgery

The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, National University Hospital is seeking candidates for our fellowship in Vascular Surgery under National University Heart Centre, Singapore. We are a 1,400 bed hospital with full range of vascular surgery services. There are 6 Consultant surgeons in the vascular division. We have an aortic center which offer full range of open, endovascular as well as hybrid surgery and both cardiac and vascular surgeons worked closely together. The vascular unit performs over 1,600 procedures in all aspect of vascular surgery. The fellowship will be at registrar/senior registrar level and you are expected to do on call at frequency of 1:4 Rota to 1:5.

As we are an academic unit of vascular surgery, fellows are expected to participate in research and teaching. Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. You will also assist with processing the microbial proteins for optimal digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profiles. The candidate will work closely with postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities in accordance with the Centre objectives involving but not limited to:
i. Conversion of industrial food side-streams into media suitable for microalgae cultivation.
ii. Microalgae cultivations in flask and benchtop bioreactors under batch, fed batch, or continuous modes.
iii. Conduct chromatographic, spectroscopic, and fluorescent analyses to monitor microalgae growth.
iv. Monitor the success of bio-physical techniques via in vitro digestibility studies, chromatography, and advanced microscopic analyses.

What you will be doing

As Superintendent, you will be managing and supporting the SMT members, motivate and coach them so they care for their ships, instil a healthy safety culture, are encouraged to maintain "good ships" and reduce the ship's cost of operation.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure that safe and environmental friendly operation is prioritized by ship’s staff onboard assigned ships

· Ensure that Shipowning Policies and Procedures are diligently implemented and effectively used onboard all his assigned ships

· Ensure that assigned ships are in full compliance with all class and regulatory requirements

· Plan, prepare and execute dry dockings in line with company’s dry-docking policy

· Support the ship in achieving its performance and condition standards by providing technical guidance, purchasing and expediting services, T-fitter and T-coater support and other in-house or contracted technical services as required

· Comply with Oil Major Requirements & Owners requirements towards Ship Approvals. Arrange for closure of deficiencies found in Vetting, PSC & Terminal Inspections

· Develop the annual technical and consumable budget in conjunction with the SMT and the 5 Year Drydock Budget in conjunction with the SMT and the Fleet Manager

· Monitor performance against budget or other management targets in conjunction with the SMT and report to the Fleet Manager major variances to actual year to date and future expected variances to end of fiscal year

· Visit each ship at least twice a year to affect management responsibilities (one of these visits shall include a full ship condition inspection as specified in this manual. A safety meeting is to be held with all staff at each visit and the feedback from the meeting should be used to improve safety on board and on other vessels as appropriate)

· Verify, through inspection of logbooks, onboard filing systems and records and by reviewing the latest Vetting and audit reports, as well as personal observations that the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems are in place and functioning properly on his assigned vessels and report deficiencies as per procedures

· Evaluate the performance and condition of the ship and its SMT (recommend training, placement, assignment and hiring of SMT member in consultation with Sea Personnel and the Fleet Manager)

· Participate in task groups responsible for improving the policy and procedures of the company and streamlining the work of the ships/Superintendent (encourage all reporting to you to make suggestions for improvement, bring these suggestions up to the proper level of management and give recognition to those who contribute)

· Share knowledge and experience with other Superintendents, departments and the Service Team to optimize the company safety records and thus its results

· Perform Secondary Superintendent’s jobs for Ships as assigned, when the Primary Superintendent is out of the office

Qualifications

· 5 years seagoing experience with a minimum of 2 in senior officer

· and/or 2 years’ experience as superintendent with a company whose capabilities have been investigated (the seagoing experience may be waived provided other relevant experience like shipyard and/or new-building site work has been performed)

· Broad general knowledge of shipping and environmental laws and regulations

PURPOSE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as escalation point to support IT engineers and Helpdesk enquiries

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years of related IT experience
• Minimum a Diploma/Degree in Information Technology / Engineering, or relevant

• Preferably ITIL v4 Foundation certified
• Field experience in Microsoft 365 Office Suite, SharePoint, Power Apps, Admin Center
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange and SCCM
• Good knowledge of Windows 10 and 11
• Powershell and Windows scripting is an added advantage
• Experience in managing internal/external stakeholders and vendors
