OVERVIEW OF JOB
This is a combined global / regional role that cuts across two clients, one being a global client with 15 markets and other being a regional client, covering 6 Asia Pacific markets. It is a hands on role with need to travel and work with markets on elevating our work so would suit a globe-trotter with strong regional/global experience in Client Leadership and Strategic Planning. Must be proven as a trusted advisor and able to deliver no-line plans across markets to meet ambitious KPIs.
This is a very high profile & senior position within Mindshare, where you'll have responsibility for running a high profile client portfolio with services scope focused on innovation, communications planning and media campaign implementation management, by leveraging your insights, analytics and strategy skill set.
There is frequent high level client contact, and you'll be the face of Mindshare to a major customer. You will lead the client relationship while also being responsible for maintaining the quality of contracted services, lobbying additional assignments as well as developing appetite for and building revenues from out-of-scope offerings and value add services. As well as driving top-level client scores and advocacy across markets, you’ll be aligning market teams on the global tools suites, driving test/learn digital innovations and apply analytics in a consistent fashion to steer investment decisions. Additionally you will be part of a larger WPP team for one account which will require you to collaborate with other agencies.
We need someone fearless, bold, and provocative. We also need someone who has experience in commerce and performance marketing as these two areas are our biggest opportunity to grow.

- This is one of the few global roles that will be based from Asia Pacific. This means you get to lead a business that cuts across USA, Europe and Asia.

- Both accounts are strategically important for Mindshare so you will have access to senior exco leadership
Being the Client Leader on one of Mindshare’s most interesting and change-ready accounts, you will be the trusted advisor not just to the client at an exciting time, but for internal (regional / global) touch-points on the local market. Good performance on this account will further strengthen Mindshare’s overall global relationship with this client.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
3 months: To become completely familiar with the client’s organizational structure, planning process, marketing calendar and the needs of key stakeholders. To arrive at top of mind understanding of the business – it’s challenges, and KPIs.
6 months: Fully functional across portfolios. Have built a complete understanding of the markets, and have guided representation on quarterly reviews and agreed priorities.
12 months: Full grasp of the business relationship, independent representation on quarterly reviews and delivery of KPIs.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Entrenching senior client relationships that position Mindshare as a principle business partner of the client/s. Be unafraid to push back, be audacious and stand your ground in terms of ideas.
- Build client satisfaction by soliciting feedback and operating like a consultant
- Acts as a client visionary by bringing a highly valued perspective to the client based on a deep understanding of their business, issues and opportunities
- Overall strategic approach on the account/s designed and delivered to meet Client’s business objectives and strategies. Oversees the implementation of the annual planning in conjunction with the client team
- Generates and communicates a shared goal and unifies a team in the pursuit of a common objective.
- Drive VAS revenues, profitably
- Always operate with a talent and growth mindset
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Minimum 12-15 years’ work experience in business consultancy, market research/analytics or a strategic planning role, of which at least 2-4 years will have been spent in a regional role
- Should have FMCG and performance experience – preference on major advertisers
- Individual should have a mix of local media + regional media management experience.
- Should have a curiousity and interest in technology and innovation
- Comfortable with or have had exposure to application of analytics and be demonstrate “no line thinking” i.e. strong track record on integrated work.
- Individual will need to build and nurture a close working relationship with local markets (internal & client).
- Strongly strategic approach – this is not an execution/operational role.
