Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. ​ Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. ​ In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose

You will be part of the team to provide casework and counselling services for families, with the goal for families to achieve healthy family functioning, and to deliver divorce support programmes and services to families who are affected by divorce, with the goal for families and their children to achieve stability and self-reliance. 

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues, including marriage, divorce, parent-child relationships or issues among siblings or extended family.
• Provide support group therapy for parents and children.
• Facilitate co-parenting programmes and workshops to help equip parents with knowledge of positive parent-child relationship, and build strategies in managing their co-parenting relationships through counselling and coaching on parenting issues.
• Conduct case management for clients and case conferences with partners.

Job Requirements

• Master Degree in Counselling OR Bachelor Degree in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling)
• At least 3-5 years of relevant casework / counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide HR administrative support in staff profile maintenance, training and development, leave administration
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new batch of volunteer counsellors 
• Prepare contracts for counselling services for corporate clients, follow up on billing and track payments  
• Provide admin & logistical support for training and events when needed
• Assist team members on IT and system issues
• Generate monthly and quarterly reports
• Manage procurement of items required for operations where needed
• Attend to public email enquiries 
• Provide secretariat support to team in preparation of staff meetings

Requirements:

• Min Diploma
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Salesforce will be advantageous
• Good inter-personal qualities and strong work ethics
• Client and service oriented
• Good communication and time management skills
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team

Working Hours : Mon to Fri, 9 am to 1 pm

Direct customer service

• Demonstrate the 5 basic demands to engage with and welcome our customers in the service areas and on the sales floor
• Apply a ‘Heads up’ approach – be aware of customers who require assistance and offer your help
• Use your product and fashion knowledge to inspire the customer by offering purchasing suggestions, and promoting campaigns, offers and activities

Store Operations

• Keep the fixtures full and tidy regularly throughout the day to maximise sales
• Ensure great garment care to sell the products in their best condition at the right time
• Replenish sizes and allocation to the sales floor through efficient delivery and refill routines to avoid missed sales
• Ensure all areas of the sales floor and back of house are always clean and tidy
• Ensure all routines are followed at the cash desks and fitting rooms to maximize sales and customer satisfaction

Team

• Share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues, offering help where needed to build a positive working atmosphere
• Give honest and constructive feedback to your colleagues to develop their skills 
• Work in accordance with H&M standards and local legislation with Health & Safety and security routines,  to guarantee your own personal safety as well as the safety of your colleagues and our customers at all times
