Main purpose of the job

The primary purpose of the Global Deployment Lead for Asahi Procurement is to orchestrate the successful implementation and execution of the procurement platforms on a global scale, ensuring seamless collaboration among teams and the effective deployment of procurement programs across diverse regions.

Accountabilities and deliverables 

1.    Implement Procurement purpose, vision, strategies and governance.

13.  Advocate and foster Sustainable Procurement (including CSR) and Procurement innovation strategies and projects.

14.  Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the portfolio and resolves conflicts

15.  Develops and controls the project budgets and manages expenditure within agreed spending plans

• Content Creation:

Key responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To lead the site construction team in ensuring smooth execution of work
• Responsible for daily execution of work at site, according to schedule
• To supervise and guide subordinates on checking of work to meet the material and workmanship requirements
• To plan ahead of schedule so that site problems can be resolved before they have impact on cost, overall schedule and quality
• To chair WSH committee and attend site meetings
• To ensure that all problems and requirement of customer are being attended.

• Responsible for the authorization of site purchases and rental
• To carry out any assignments which may be given from time to time by the Management
• To administer changes to the contract with the contracts department
• Follow up on customer complaints. Identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes, minimize environmental impact associated with the construction activities
• Take reasonably practical measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at the workplace
• Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures are implemented at the work site
• Ensure full compliance of MOM safety rules and conduct periodic safety inspections on safety performance of all subcontractors

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Provide guidance and technical support to welding inspectors, supervisors, welders and other members of the project team.
• Perform inspections of QAQC activities such as welding works, NDT tests, hydrostatic tests, valves passing tests, coating applications, heat induction bending, cold bending, etc. to ensure compliance with project specifications, and standards (AS2885, ASME, API, ISO).
• Review and maintain accurate inspection records, including welding logs, inspection reports, and certifications.
• Identify and document welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead the technical discussions with client and project consultant and assist with regulatory audits, providing detailed documentation and addressing queries.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance welding quality and efficiency.
• Able to work independently in a fast paced environment and able to handle multi-task and ad-hoc assignments.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor or HOD.

• Certification as a Senior Welding Inspector (e.g., AWS, CSWIP).
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added value.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AS2885, ASME Section IX, API, ISO).
• Minimum 6 years of experience in pipeline construction, pipe/fitting welding, testing and commissioning works.
• Advanced certifications in NDT or welding technologies are highly preferred.
• NDT and coating inspection certifications are a strong advantage.
• Prior experience in the oil & gas industry is preferred.
