Jacobs has been selected as the Systems Consultant for the RTS project linking Singapore and Johor, Malaysia. As part of that project, we require a manager to join us on a 4-month contract to manage the testing of trains and wayside systems (Signaling and communications) at the LTA test track facility in Singapore.
You will have proven relevant experience and thorough technical knowledge to plan and manage testing activities to integrate new rolling stock and wayside systems. Testing may run on a 24-hour basis so unsociable hours working can be foreseen.
- Managing operations and rolling stock maintenance / systems / operation / practices.
- Managing Infrastructure systems that enable a train to stop safely every day on platforms and in sidings and depot areas. These would include lineside signalling, communications systems, Correct side door enable systems / Platform screen doors.
- Communicate and develop test plans and engage and influence stakeholders.
- Develop and manage schedules of work.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team.
- Produce and present monthly progress reports.
- Leading a team on time-critical activities.
- Interpret and present complex signaling, communications, and rolling stock interface matters.
To be a successful candidate, you shall possess:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum 25 years of experience in the design, delivery, and testing of new rolling stock systems.
- Minimum 10 years experience in GoA4 rolling stock delivery.
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of safe systems of work for doing trackside tests with the new trains and confirming compatibility with the infrastructure introduced to the trackside to accommodate it.
- Delivery of projects through the complete life cycle, from concept to operational service, including knowledge of governing Standards and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of LTA / APAD assurance regimes, including testing and bringing assets into use and handover and introducing changes to rolling stock or rolling stock practices.
- Knowledge of EMC requirements for LTA/Singapore regarding Rolling Stock and Infrastructure equipment.
