Responsibilities
The Resident Technical Officer shall report to the Consultant, be responsible for the constant/standing supervision of the construction of Civil & Structural works of the project and shall exercise all reasonable skill, care and diligence in the discharge of the contract.
To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act.
To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents, and site instructions.
To check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person as stated below:
Check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual submitted by contractor.
To check on quality of materials and samples delivered to site and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications.
To ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary.
Qualifications
Possess Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering / Structural discipline.
Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
Minimum 3 years relevant experience as a RTO, of which at least 2 to 3 years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to the Works.
