Our Client is in the Environmental Industry. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for an Assistant Chemist to join their team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in the West.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and document all incoming lab samples for accountability.
• Process samples through drying, crushing, splitting, and pulverizing.
• Prepare and mix fluxing reagents for furnace operations.
• Mix reagents for acid digestion and conduct smelting for metal extraction.
• Assist in recovering precious metals like gold and silver.
• Perform fire assay testing of precious metal scraps using the cupellation method.
• Validate, ensure accuracy, and report analytical results.
• Monitor analytical procedures, address deviations, and maintain quality standards.
• Keep records of samples, standards, and equipment usage.
• Support equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
• Identify and log equipment issues for resolution and troubleshoot analytical methods as needed.
• Ensure proper disposal of lab waste, including hazardous materials, in compliance with regulations.
• Any ad-hoc duty as assigned

Requirement

• Min Diploma in Chemistry or related field.
• Knowledge in safe handling of industrial chemicals.
• Experience in handing/Recovering precious metals is add bonus.
• Experience and the ability to operate ICP / XRF is an added bonus.

Job Purpose:

Ensure smooth laboratory operation activities, maintaining laboratory compliance standards to be inspection ready and shape a new MTO culture founded on collaboration, diversity, fostering reliability, productivity and innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify and report OOS, deviations, and quality issues
• Document and report testing activities and results
• Ensure compliance with Quality and HSE procedures during sampling and QC tests
• Manage laboratory operations by adhering to operational excellence models
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Report OOS equipment issues and manage purchase requests
• Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of QC data and records
• Optimize workflows and improve quality and efficiency within the department
• Assist in laboratory inspections, audits, and compile data for performance reporting
• Propose improvements for QC procedures, activities, and workflows
• Gather information for feasibility assessments of new QC procedures, systems, and equipment

Requirements:

• Diploma in science related.
• At least one year experience in QC lab. Knowledge in operating HPLC and Empower software added advantage.
• Requires to work on shift.

Jobscope:

• Patient Care: Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide post-operative care.
• Pre-Operative Support: Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure comfort.
• Post-Operative Care: Monitor recovery, manage pain, and educate patients on discharge instructions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the medical team to ensure coordinated care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and ensure safety protocols are followed.
