The candidate will join a team based in Singapore, as part of a Follow The Sun (FTS) team of global network engineers. The network team engineers, automates, monitors and supports high performance networks with extreme uptime requirements utilizing cutting edge network technologies. This role will focus on all aspects of enterprise networking including datacenter, backbone, market data, co-lo and end user environments.
The Asia Networks team is part of the Asia Infrastructure team with expertise across infrastructure disciplines including Data Center Management, Windows, Unix, Cloud , Information Security and virtualization. The role will be able to work with technical engineers and clients that span global offices across the US, EMEA, and APAC.
Principal Responsibilities
- Engineering, operations and implementation role in enterprise networks across all aspects of the network, including Market Data, low latency execution, datacenter, backbone, desktop connectivity, corporate Wi-fi and remote offices.
- Serve as an escalation point for critical issues. Help connect the global team to key network challenges and advocate for the needs of the APAC region.
- Implementation of global standards and participation in the network automation framework for deployment and operations.
- L2/L3 operational support experience with a desire to train more junior engineers and contribute to operational process improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hands-on technical role for networks.
- Proven ability to take on a strong technical ownership capability in a global organization. Strong communication skills across engineering staff of multiple disciplines.
- An understanding of the importance of operations with a desire to train and mentor more junior engineers and improve/automate operational processes
Technical Competencies
- Expert knowledge of BGP routing protocol with a working knowledge of OSPF/IS-IS
- Expert skills in Trading Network implementation & operations, provisioning connectivity to various exchange and counterparty B2B connections
- An understanding of low latency technology and how latency impacts certain trading strategies
- Technical knowledge of multicast based provision of trading market data
Technical Competencies - Nice to have
- Experience with DC, enterprise leaf/spine designs, WAN engineering, enterprise QoS.
- Knowledge and experience of DMZ and Network Security technologies, Cisco and/or Palo Alto firewalls & F5 load balancers.
- Some exposure to Cloud networking is beneficial.
- Python, Go programming exposure with a slant towards network automation and tooling.
- Experience with analyzing packet captures, network capacity and performance management using FMAD, Corvil, Grafana, Prometheus etc.
- Experience of SDWAN technologies and their application for home user and small office deployments.
