Job Description:

• Product & Process Development for aquaculture by following the Product Innovation Process (PIP)

• Collaboration with researchers in academic institutions and close interaction with customers will be part of the work

• Publication of scientific and technical articles in database

• Participate in customer trials and analysis and develop data to support the sales and technical teams

• Coordinate with the research teams within AquaScienceTM across locations on projects

• Develop experimental protocols, methods of analysis and standard operating procedures (SOP) for aquaculture-related topics

• Perform routine test including chemistry and biochemical assays, microbiological works in BSC etc. in accordance the SOPs for customers’ requests and projects, interpret experimental data andwith deliver the analytical reports on time.

• Undertake to troubleshoot problems relating to the experiments and lab equipment

• Work along with the sales and technical team on customer trials, trainings and product promotion activities

• Prepare PIP and R&D updates, and publish internal publications, source documents and review papers on a timely basis

• Studies in coordination with regulatory, quality and production teams on new product development, scale-up and registration process

• Carry out literature search and identify appropriate methods and approaches for research

• Maintain and operate the lab equipment effectively and handle the lab equipment's troubleshooting and basic repair independently such as HPLC, GC-MS, GC-FID

• Execution of general laboratory activities: managing lab inventory, sample management and waste disposal, housekeeping, and other assigned duties

• Maintain accurate and up to date records of all research activities in laboratory note books and other forms as required.

• Protect all confidential information such as formulations, trade secrets and other commercially sensitive information.

• Carry out research activities with high scientific and personal integrity on the foundation of good scientific and laboratory practices.

• Conduct all research activities with strict adherence to the health and safety policies of the company.

A Research fellow position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Laboratory at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The successful candidate will support the research work that focuses on studying inflammaeing in the context of skin aging in Asian populations.

The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding functional immune responses in skin immune interactions and recapitulating them in in-vitro and ex-vivo systems. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.

Duties will include managing safety in the laboratory, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory risk assessments, maintaining laboratory inventories, perform other laboratory administrative duties and operations such as ordering and tracking laboratory budget.

Job Requirements:

• PhD Degree in Skin Immunology, Life sciences, Biomedical sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent
• Preferably with experience in dermatology, immunology, molecular allergy and clinical immunology
• At least 2 years experience with human and mouse blood/tissue sample handling and in vitro cell culture and processing (e.g. isolation of specific immune cell populations, differentiation and activation assay)
• Experience with flow cytometry analysis for different immune cell populations and functional immune assays
• Highly motivated to work in research laboratory and able to perform tasks independently
• Precise, detailed-oriented and able to follow complex protocols
• Willing to learn new experimental procedures and troubleshoot assays
• Good team player with good interpersonal skills
