The Aviation Innovation Research (AIR) Lab

The joint CAAS-Thales innovation lab known as ‘AIR Lab’ started to operate on 1st November 2019 with the objective to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) of advanced and open technologies for future Air Traffic Management (ATM). Currently, the joint lab employs a team of 40 Thales engineers and 12 CAAS engineers and air traffic controllers operating in a vibrant ecosystem involving a number of Singaporean SMEs and start-ups, as well as key research institutes.

Thales engineers include 10 domain experts – with more than 10 years of experience – coming from Thales ATM centers of competence in France and Australia. These experts are coaching both the local Thales and CAAS engineers. 

The POCs and MVPs are co-developed with the CAAS engineers who have access to the same development tools and environment used by the Thales Engineers (provided by the Singapore branch of Thales Digital Factory). The POCs and MVPs are defined in collaboration with CAAS air traffic controllers through iterative workshops.

AIR Lab research outcomes will feed the next generation of products, including clearly disruptive outcomes addressing Safety and Security for Open architecture, data driven ATM Twin, Green Aviation, Trajectory Based Operations. 

As the AIR Lab was recently extended for another 3 years, 4 work streams are now embarked: Regional Experimental Platform, FF-ICE/TBO, Green Aviation, Future-proof Interoperable Platform-Agnostic, Safe and Secure Platforms. These work streams are supported by the AIR Lab DataLake platform which provides data transformation and serving services in the cloud.

Main Responsibilities:

· Prepare and maintain technical documents (COA, MSDS, Specs etc.) for production lots

· Prepare and maintain documentation records of Food Safety Quality Management system documents for our factory

· Prepare and maintain samples of incoming new samples for sensory evaluation and record evaluations

· Prepare samples for outgoing production sensory QA and submit sensory report (for specific products)

· Weighing, mixing of ingredients for sample preparation

· Any other ad-hoc duties assigned

Requirements:

· Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese clients who can converse in Mandarin only

· Minimum Diploma in Food Science/Chemistry or related fields

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)

Job Overview
Manage the process of designing and launching clinical research studies; manage activities of the Sponsor/Clinical Research Organization (CRO); lead colleagues in the design and organization of project components during Start-Up; develop and maintain best practices within the organization; Accountability and ownership for the quality of all start-up work and sponsor deliverables.

Essential Functions
• Develop the database design requirements which include configuration definition for full protocols, protocol amendments and sponsor study changes
• developing and maintaining client design standards as applicable in accordance with the Clinical Protocol
• Manage study database configuration. Support internal/external stakeholders in the development of sponsor standards and as a Set-up point of contact
• Collaborate with colleagues during planning meetings regarding project timelines, and project-related issues focusing on capabilities within, but not limited to, Data Management, Logistics, Clinical Trial Materials, Laboratory Testing, and Specimen Management
• Responsible for updates to the project, including the action/issues logs, status sheets and timelines during the startup phase, where applicable
• Communicate and coordinate set-up activities with clients and internal customers to ensure that all milestones are achieved
• Proactively manage changes in study related project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
• As required, prepare and present study-specific materials and services at Investigator, Kick-off meetings. Participate in external and internal audits as required
• Provide day to day guidance to more junior staff assigned to project or within a specific program area
• may act as a mentor as well as assist in the training and development of more junior staff
• Participate in improvement projects as defined by the relevant process improvement management team. Conduct project lesson learn sessions and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements, when applicable
• Work performed is in accordance with ICH E6 Guideline for Good Clinical Practice.

Qualifications

• Other Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Req
• Minimum 2 years of clinical or research industry experience, including 1 year project management / project set up experience  Pref Or

• Possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Some experience in leading Phase I-IV clinical trials would be advantageous. Some technical and therapeutic expertise would be advantageous, in addition to significant experience with key customers.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Clinical Trials Management Systems would be an advantage.
• Possess an understanding of medical and clinical research terminology.

• Responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

• Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications.

• Identifies on-going quality issues, prevents potential production issues, and makes suggestions for improvement.

• Uses various measuring devices, testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products.
