Position Overview:

The AV Technician will be a key contributor to the seamless operation and maintenance of MAS's audio-visual (AV) and video conferencing (VC) systems. This role requires technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting a wide range of virtual and physical events. The AV Technician will ensure all AV systems are functioning optimally while delivering exceptional service to MAS's stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Event Support and Operations

• Operate and manage AV and VC systems for daily virtual and physical events, ensuring smooth execution.
• Plan and coordinate schedules for multiple events, including multi-day sessions, with setups and tests completed at least 30 minutes before the start of each event.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance to ensure AV and VC systems remain in excellent working condition.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment, addressing issues promptly.
• Monitor and respond to maintenance service requests, investigating faults, and initiating corrective actions for equipment breakdowns.

3. Reporting and Documentation

• Produce and maintain weekly maintenance reports for filing and review.
• Maintain an up-to-date asset inventory with proper labeling and detailed incident/problem reports.
• Update engineering system information databases, including drawings, operations manuals, and maintenance logs.

4. Coordination and Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate rectification, maintenance, replacement, and upgrading of AV and VC systems.
• Collaborate with contractors for AV equipment setup, seating arrangements, and venue preparation.
• Oversee cleaning contractors and ensure the readiness of meeting venues.

• Carryout maintenance, repair and overhaul work on heavy vehicles (AMT Transmissions) ensuring high standard of workmanship and minimize turnaround time for scheduled repairs and inspections to meet workshop’s service standards and according to job order
• To perform complete overhauls of Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT), including disassembly, inspection, component replacement, and reassembly to manufacturer standards
• To perform overhaul on truck air components such as air compressors, air brakes, and valves, ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
• Able to utilize the diagnostic tools to identify issues in transmission systems and air system for accurate repairs will be an added advantage.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues and implement solutions in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain detailed service records, including component testing, calibrations, and repairs
• Compliance with company safety protocols and procedures

Requirements:

• At least NITEC in Automotive Technology or relevant certification
• Preferably at least 3 years experience in component repair, troubleshooting and measuring (overhaul of Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT) and truck air components with a focus on Japanese models)
• Preferably with Class 3 & 4 Driving License

Job Description:

The Laboratory Officer will be responsible for the efficient operation of the vapor deposition lab, focusing on both physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) techniques. This role requires a strong technical background in thin film deposition processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with research teams. The Laboratory Officer will work closely with the research engineers and scientists to oversee lab operations and provide support to ongoing projects. Key responsibilities include:

Lab Management:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the vapor deposition lab, including equipment maintenance, process optimization, and safety protocols.
• Ensure that the lab is well-equipped and stocked with necessary materials and consumables for PVD/CVD processes.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement of deposition materials, gases, and other supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with laboratory standards and regulations.

Process Optimization:

• Develop and optimize deposition processes for thin film fabrication using PVD and CVD techniques.
• Conduct experiments to characterize film properties, optimize deposition parameters, and troubleshoot process issues.
• Collaborate with researchers and project teams to identify and implement improvements in deposition quality, yield, and efficiency.

Experimental Support:

• Provide technical support to researchers and project teams for experimental setup, process monitoring, and data analysis.
• Assist with the design and fabrication of thin film devices and structures for research applications.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of deposition equipment to ensure reliable and reproducible results.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in detailed lab reports.

Project Support:

• Collaborate with project teams to support the execution of research projects requiring thin film deposition capabilities.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure that milestones are met in accordance with project objectives.
• Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress and address any technical challenges or concerns.

Training and Development:

• Provide training and guidance to new lab members on proper laboratory techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
• Stay informed about advancements in thin film deposition technology through literature review and professional development activities.
• Share knowledge and best practices with other members of the research team to enhance overall productivity and effectiveness.

Requirement:

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Mechanical engineering, or a related science and engineering field.
• Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, with a focus on thin film deposition techniques such as PVD and CVD.
• Strong understanding of deposition processes, including vacuum systems, gas flow control, and substrate preparation.
• Preferred to have good hands-on experience with system maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively independently.
