The job description of a Pharmacy Technician (PT) details the responsibilities and the general

duties of the PT. Foster continuous improvements as our way of life by encouraging staff efforts at improving processes to achieve clinical quality and operational excellence

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for inpatient dispensing which includes typing, packing, labelling and distribution of drug supplies to the wards and other hospital departments
2. Perform billing functions and ensure that cost and revenue of all stocks supplied are recovered.
3. Assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for sterile and extemporaneous preparations according to USP guidelines.
4. Perform compounding of antibiotic infusers, eye drops, syringe preparations and topical creams according to the prescriptions and orders.
5. Ensure maintenance, sanitation and organization of clean room and related equipment according to policies and procedures.
6. Dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
7. Monitor and maintain inventory stock level of drugs in the areas of work.
8. Receive, unpack, and check deliveries against the appropriate documents, to ensure that items received are correct and accounted for.
9. Perform stock receipts and issues in FEFO order
10. Assist in providing quality customer service.
11. Assist in planning and managing or performing unit dose repackaging production.
12. Assist in overseeing or performing topping up of medications into Automated Medication Cabinets
13. Maintain the cleanliness of the work areas and prepare these for daily operations
14. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

(B) GENERAL

1. Assist in orientating and training new staff assigned to the section.
2. Assist pharmacist in managing the operations in the assigned section.
3. Foster continuous improvements as our way of life by encouraging staff efforts at improving processes to achieve clinical quality and operational excellence
4. Support the hospital by participating actively in the various activities organized by the hospital. Activities include QC, community projects, staff welfare and recreational activities etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or completed the Certified Pharmacy Technician Course

· or an equivalent qualification.

Job Description

Prepare apparatus for science experiments before the

lesson

• Stock take of equipment and managing of materials

used by science experiments periodically. Send a logistic

report on the stock checking per term.

• Monitor and alert to the school for replenishment of

materials.

• Assist HOD science to search for vendors on

purchasing of science related equipment when necessary

• Simple repairs to any damage of electrical apparatus

or any similar work related to science

• Knowledge of using and handling datalogger

• Able to render first-aid service to students if

necessary

1. Perform inspection data entry.

2. Maintain filling system and provide clerical support.

3. Write simple testing quality records and maintenance checklists.

4. Ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment.

5. Perform microbiological tests and chemical analysis pertaining to product release, project and validation related testing.

6. Perform internal equipment calibration.

7. Appointed as a trainer on identified subject matter expert. Train new Lab staffs.

8. Consolidate product release documents.

9. Generate certificate of analysis for product release.

10. Tagging of Product Status in Computer System.

11. Conduct lab equipment internal calibration.

12. Preparation of BI for routine sterilization and validation.

13. Perform QR scanning and maintain QR and inventory storage area.

14. Scrap QR and tested samples.

15. Ensure and verify chemical mixing process is performed in accordance with written procedures.

16. Perform related duties and responsibilities as per required by superior.
