Summary

The Security Executive supports the Assistant Security Manager and the Head of Safety, Security, and Compliance in day-to-day operations. JOB CONTENT:

• Maintains vigilance while on duty for the protection of the facility, employees and all property owned or leased by Future Electronics Corporation. Controls access to the building through the turnstile operation and ensures that all persons entering and exiting the building have either done so by use of an employee access card or have been manually signed in by the security officer. The manual signing-in of employees includes the tasks of issuing a temporary badge and ensuring that the register of employees without badges is duly completed.
• The security officer must monitor and be able to promptly react to all alarm systems including Fire Panels, ADT Alarm and CCTV system.
• Security Officers must promote adherence to the Future Electronics, Human Resources policy on Building Access and ensure that all employees are wearing their Employee Identification Card at all times and that the card is visible. Any employee not wearing their card must be reported in the Daily Journal.
• Maintains the Daily Journal and makes the appropriate entries. Prepares incident reports and other related administrative forms with the knowledge and direction of the Shift Leader.
• Checks fire emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire hose cabinets and sprinkler valves. Knows fire alarm procedures; zone and alarm locations; and reset procedures. Look for safety hazards to include electrical or water conditions. Alerts facilities maintenance of any hazards or discrepancies that may require immediate corrective action. Ensure that these discrepancies are reported to the shift leader and are noted and entered into the Daily Journal.
• Reviews and learns all security operating procedures (SOP Manual). Reviews security memos, pass-on messages, or other directives. Become knowledgeable of the duties and responsibilities of each duty shift and post assignments.
• Performs escorts to contractors, vendors, and other visitors as necessary. Ensures that outside contractors performing duties within the facility adhere to internal security procedures and that these procedures are maintained and followed at all times. Ensures proper wear and display of contractor ID badges.

As a Security Officer, you’ll be implementing safety and security policies in accordance with IHG standards – emphasizing to remain alert at all times to team members. By allowing guests to feel safe and that their safety is not being compromised, it would encourage them to repeat visits to our hotel.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Reporting to Manager all hotel property deficiencies and safety or security hazards
• Checking control access points as assigned to ensure no unauthorized entry
• Maintaining keen vigilance at colleague entrance where colleagues, casual labours and visitors check in
• Doing patrolling on guest floors, heart of house and check entry and exit points
• Ensuring all operating procedures are adhered to
• Monitoring CCTV cameras
• Arranging Night Transport requests for colleagues
• Responding to emergencies as a member of CERT / Certified First Aider
• Familiar with fire / work place safety procedure guided by hotel’s emergency plan in any case of fire outbreak
• Escorting VIPs and dignitaries
• Engaging with guest confidently & appropriately
• Staying alert and observe for any unusual packages, guests or vehicles to advise superior

What we need from you

• A minimum qualification in GCE O levels
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Possess a valid security officer licence
• Able to work rotating shift hours over weekends and public holidays
• Proactive and have an eye for details
• Able to stay alert & professional at all times

As guests take the first step into the hotel, they are welcomed by our tidy and well-kept lobby. As Public Area Attendant (Night), you’ll assist to ensure that the public areas meet the hotel’s standards for cleanliness and presentation – ensure high standards are met to deliver memorable and unique guest experiences. You will be placed on permanent night shift.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Liaise with Housekeeping Supervisor in relation to chemical usage, problems or rectification suggestions
• Refer major complaints to and complete tasks directed by Management
• Be aware of hotel information, special events and programs happening in the hotel to respond to guests needs at first point
• Ensure working knowledge of all hotel public areas and cleaning schedules completed in a routine and timely manner
• Operate equipment safely and sensibly
• Maintain stock levels and work aligned to business requirements
• Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems
• Respond to emergencies effectively and efficiently
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures
• Ensure all procedures are conducted safely and in accordance to OH&S guidelines
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
