Job Title: Data Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Security Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding our organization’s data and ensuring its integrity, confidentiality, and availability. The Data Security Specialist will work closely with IT teams and other departments to design, implement, and manage security measures that protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, breaches, and threats.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop Data Security Strategies
· Design, implement, and maintain data security policies and standards in compliance with international and Singapore-specific regulations (e.g., PDPA).
· Establish encryption protocols, access controls, and audit logging mechanisms to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
2. Build Security Systems
· Design secure architectures for internal systems and cloud environments to protect against threats like DDoS attacks and data breaches.
· Manage compliance processes for certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
3. Threat Management
· Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security gaps.
· Monitor network traffic, logs, and event data to respond to and resolve security incidents promptly.
4. Training and Awareness
· Conduct security training sessions for internal teams to raise awareness about best practices.
· Create and maintain security-related documentation and guidelines.
5. Technical Collaboration and Support
· Collaborate with cloud architects and development teams to ensure security is embedded in system designs.
· Evaluate and integrate third-party security tools (e.g., SIEM, IAM).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in data or network security roles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
- Expertise in encryption algorithms (e.g., AES, RSA) and security protocols (e.g., SSL/TLS).
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), firewalls, WAFs, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Hands-on experience with risk assessment and penetration testing.
- Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to drive security practices across cross-functional teams.
