The Public Relations Officer (Buildings) will act on behalf of Woh Hup to assist Project Director and the project site in the management of public relations matters pertaining to the Works.

· Shall liaise with and assist the Developer and Engineer on all public relations matters, including stakeholder engagement and management, with emphasis on management of public relations matters and public feedback.

· Able to design, production and distribution of all communication materials (newsletter, flyers, circulars, brochures, etc.) related to the public relations effort.

· Have experience in organizing engagement and outreach activities, such as briefings, dialogue sessions and exhibitions in such context of building projects.

· Must be able to engage stakeholders through new media and social media platforms such as creating Facebook Groups.

• Provide legal advice to senior management and cross-functional project teams in a solution oriented and practical manner.

In collaboration with external litigation lawyers, analyze issues, develop and implement cost effective legal strategies on complex claims and lawsuits and prepare for settlement or trial, as appropriate.
• Corporate Secretarial
• Supervise and oversee group’s corporate secretarial matters (outsourced or in-house team), including, without limitation, the incorporation and closing of local companies, preparation of board and shareholders’ meeting minutes and/or resolutions, and making necessary filings with relevant authorities such as ACRA and IRAS.
• Coordination of meeting of board of directors and shareholders upon management’s request
• Maintain proper statutory records of group companies (originals will be kept by external service provider if outsourced).

Requirement

• Degree or Master of laws from a reputable university.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in corporate legal department
• Experience in providing practical business solutions and sound legal and comprehensive advice to various business units and corporate functions, preferably in a dynamic organization.
• Good written and spoken in English and Mandarin in order to liaise with Chinese speaking associates and China HQ office
• Excellent relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills and working collaboratively.

Purpose of the job

Responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AET’s Compliance and Ethics programme and promotion of a strong compliance and ethics culture and awareness of expected standards of behaviour throughout the AET Group, consistent with the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE).

Provide legal support to the legal team as directed with respect to the Company’s prospective and existing shipping business in APAC and globally. Provide advice on general legal matters affecting the Company. Monitor legal developments and changes in legislation.

Key Accountabilities

Compliance and Ethics Function

• Build a highly effective Compliance and Ethics function that is positioned to support the Company in ensuring compliance with key CoBE and regulatory obligations.
• Comply with Company's policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE).
• Experience in ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System) certification, internal and external audit, experience of anti-bribery and corruption, conflict of interest, gifts and hospitality, whistleblowing, due diligence systems.
• Global sanctions experience including OFAC, OFSI, US, UK, EU, UN sanctions, sanctions relating to Russia and China, sanctions targeting the maritime sector including those relating to ship-to-ship transfers and AIS.

• Lead and manage the establishment and implementation of compliance systems, processes, and tools within AET to provide structured guidance and monitoring and enablers/tools to mitigate against illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

• Institute and maintain an effective compliance education, communication, and training programme for AET.

Risk Assessment

• Lead and manage risk assessments and corporate compliance review to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of systems and processes in relation to compliance and its supporting policies, manuals and/or guidelines.

Research and Benchmarking

• Have oversight of varied compliance and ethics obligations and requirements of the business in all locations and ensure appropriate structures are in place to support compliance.

What you'll achieve

We are looking for an experienced Privacy legal professional who can act as Privacy Legal Counsel for Dell’s Asia Pacific, Japan (APJ) region and be a strategic partner in leading privacy compliance efforts for the company. You will play a significant role in policy and business counseling and compliance with relevant international privacy laws.

You will:

• Provide expertise and privacy legal advice on issues that arise in the APJ region, including: regulator inquiries, complaints, investigations, queries; data subject rights and requests; relevant contract negotiations; and the application of relevant privacy laws and other regulatory requirements to Dell’s business.
• Coordinate global privacy advice for one or more Business Units, ensuring an aligned approach from the Privacy Legal team.
• Proactively monitor and provide advice and guidance on the assessment and implementation of evolving global privacy risks and privacy regulations, and collaborate with legal, privacy and business colleagues on the application and implementation of international privacy laws to Dell’s business.

Essential Requirements

• Deep experience in the application of regional APJ privacy laws and other applicable regulations to a global company, providing advisory support in regulatory matters and incident management, and providing strategic legal support to ensure privacy regulatory compliance readiness by an organization on emerging privacy laws and regulations
• Experience providing strategic direction on implementation of privacy programs and compliance mechanisms
