Public Policy Program Manager

We are looking for a hardworking and innovative individual to support our Public Policy Asia Pacific and Japan team on a broad range of policy issues throughout the Asia Pacific region and in particular ASEAN. Our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers. The role is for a six-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the ASEAN Public Policy Director and the Strategy, Operations, and Enablement team, the Public Policy program manager will specifically help support the running of the ASEAN public policy team, drive accountability of goals, and help manage internal reporting process. Additionally, he/she will help design training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team, research and implement tools and technologies that contribute to collaboration and communication across the team, and help oversee project management, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives within budget and scope.
• The Public Policy program manager will work collaboratively with the team to ensure alignment, act as a liaison between different sub-teams to ensure seamless communication and integration of initiatives, and establish, maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes, and provide regular updates and reports on the progress and impact of strategy, operations, and enablement programs.

Basic Qualifications:

- BA/BS required
- Work, internship, or other leadership experience in a professional environment, with an emphasis and demonstrated interest in public policy and government relations work

Preferred Qualification:

- A keen understanding of the legislative and regulatory policy process as well as the technology industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging
- Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity
- Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at all corporate and political levels
- Self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results
- Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others, with the ability to intelligently build a course of action, analyze trade-offs, and make recommendations even in ambiguous situations

 Perform daily GL & reconciling differences.

 Bank and intercompany reconciliations, performing timely investigations and follow-up on outstanding transactions.

 Perform month-end closing of books, raising journal entries for monthly revenue and accruals, amortization, depreciation and other recurring items.

 Manage the Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable process including booking of entries and payment, ensure the local GST is properly accounted for, including debit and credit notes.

 Prepare audit schedules for external auditors and liaison with auditors.

 Assist in preparing returns for corporate income tax, GST and other indirect taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.

 Assist in other accounts work related task and cover other colleagues when necessary.

 Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Management / Head of Department.

Role Responsibilities (Technical):
• Manage, configure and upgrade a wide variety of security technologies (please see below for the security
products)
• Respond to managed security technologies fault alerts and/or customer escalation
• Troubleshoot product-specific technical issues within SLA and work with internal teams/external vendors to
resolve technical issues
• Perform incident/problem escalation within SLA to internal technical teams or external product vendor
• Prepare and submit Incident Reports on high severity incidents
• Respond to inbound Change Requests (CRs), Service Requests (SRs) or other queries within SLA.
• Perform regular configuration backups on managed security products
• Plan and coordinate Maintenance Windows with customer on necessary software patching and version
upgrades.
• Create and update technical documentations on managed security technologies
• Generate monthly reports according to service scope requirements
• Adhere to organization and project security policies, procedures and security best practices
Role Responsibilities (Non-Technical):
• Point of contact to assist and advise client for any ICT security related
• Lead and support customer in the matter of security incident response and resolution
• Team player with good leadership qualities
• Customer-focused with good interpersonal skills

We are looking for a self-motivated, meticulous and committed individual to join the Representation and Law Reform department. The successful candidate will be required to perform committee administration and legal administrative work, as well as provide support for the work of the Law Society’s Practice Committees, for the benefit of the Society’s members and the legal profession.

Responsibilities

• Organise and take minutes for Practice Committee meetings and meetings with the Courts and other external stakeholders
• Perform legal administrative work, including collating and consolidating legal inputs, as well as basic legal research and legal drafting
• Support and facilitate the work and various initiatives of the Council of the Law Society and the Practice Committees

Requirements

• A Diploma in law
• At least 2 years’ of experience as a paralegal or legal support staff in a law firm
• Experience in supporting transactional or corporate work will be an asset
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong language ability with demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently but also as a team player
• Good administrative and organisational skills
