We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. You will also assist with processing the microbial proteins for optimal digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profiles. The candidate will work closely with postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities in accordance with the Centre objectives involving but not limited to:
i. Conversion of industrial food side-streams into media suitable for microalgae cultivation.
ii. Microalgae cultivations in flask and benchtop bioreactors under batch, fed batch, or continuous modes.
iii. Conduct chromatographic, spectroscopic, and fluorescent analyses to monitor microalgae growth.
iv. Monitor the success of bio-physical techniques via in vitro digestibility studies, chromatography, and advanced microscopic analyses.

Ain Society is looking for a dedicated and versatile executive to assist in the administration and management of our facilities across three centers, working closely with our admin team on administrative matters, as well as assisting our IT consultant in providing IT support to all staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background, preferably in administration and/or IT support, demonstrating excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Office and Facilities Administration:

• Work closely with the admin team to perform administrative duties.
• Maintain accurate records of all physical and fixed assets, including acquisition, allocation, maintenance, and disposal, using our asset management online system.
• Regularly inspect facilities to ensure they are properly maintained and accounted for.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for facilities management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for facilities/asset procurement, maintenance, and repairs.
• Work closely with our outsourced IT consultant to perform various IT solutions, including addressing hardware and software issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Project Management and Other Duties:

• Assist in the planning and execution of special and adhoc projects and initiatives.
• Assist the logistics team for event logistics and materials preparations.
• Ensure events are executed smoothly as and when required.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Scope of work

• Provide pleasant and attentive services to members of public stakeholders and members of school, i.e. parents, students etc with their enquiries and requests.
• Provide timely, accurate and clear communication – both written and verbal – to members of public stakeholders and members of school, i.e. screen and direct calls, take and relay messages, provide required information for inquiries.
• Attend to sick or injured students who report to the General Office (GO), and notify relevant staff as well as maintain records of sick bay usage
• Support the GO staff with administration and operational matters, e.g. organise and sort mails, receive deliveries, assist with recording students’ late coming, checking the completeness of forms submitted to the GO.
• Keep proper records of keys and lockers issued.
• Complete other role-related duties as assigned by Principal, Vice-Principals, Administration Manager and Admin Executive.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Possess a minimum 3 years’ experience working as a receptionist or as a personal assistant to management/C-suite personnel, and/or relevant certificates.
• Have good working knowledge of office IT software such as Words and Excel.

Contract Period: From 8 Jan 2025 to 30 June 2026

Are you a Technical Assistant working closely with the Technical Superintendent and looking to join a well established and grwoing shipping company in Singapore?

You will be responsible for:

• dry dock and repair project planning, execution, and close-out, attending the project site when required.
• Assist with OPEX budget preparation.
• Assist with service engineer arrangement and coordination for boarding.
• Review, maintain and prepare vessel shareholder presentation for agreed submission dates.
• Maintain record of the fleet service arrangements & EOM reports including technical bulletins from makers.
• Complete monthly post meeting reports for Charterers / Fleet.
• Administer the disbursement account, detailing line items and account codes.
• Review and respond to Management Meeting minutes.
• Send to vessels Class status report monthly including expiring certificates status.
• Assist works related EU ETS, EUMRV and IMO DCS.
• Any other documentary and filing works as required by team
• Support with Guarantee claims administration.
• Assist Survey and Audit Requirements (internal and external)
• Monitor and provide progression reports on the Teams “Management of Change”.
• Review and maintain fleet weekly operational records data monthly KPI data and ensure fleet team are informed.
