Responsibilties

• Supervise the safe execution of the works and maintain excellent site safety and housekeeping records.
• Check all relevant drawings and method statements to ensure that works are planned and carried out with compliance to safety regulations
• To review safety policies and procedures, the risk assessment during each phase of construction and present them to Safety Action Group. Conduct investigation on any safety infringement or accident on site and prepare safety reports.
• Ensure that all site excavation and hot works are executed with approved permits and full-time supervision.
• To be familiar with the Airport Operational and Safety (AOS) Requirements.
• Advise emergency response plan and ensure that the plan is exercised in accordance to the approved response plan.
• Submit and maintain daily site records reporting on the daily activities and the safety inspections carried out on the Contractor and alert CAG and other relevant authorities as and when safety infringements are encountered.
• The report shall consist of a short write-up, together with photographs supporting his reports or claims, recommendations and follow-up actions, etc.
• Proper protective wear must be worn at all times when site staff us on site.
• Check and ensure all the necessary safety requirements and procedures pertaining to the Airside Works Procedures Manual and Airport Operational and Safety (AOS) Requirements, and the safety regulations
• Proposed Procedures to ensure Full implementation of Compliance with SMS & AOS Requirements for Airside Construction and Development
• Conduct safety inspection of the worksite to look out for Foreign Object Debris (FOD), obstacles exceeding allowable height limits
• Inspect and ensure that all work activities and obstructions, machinery and vehicles are kept out of the minimum clearance distance from active runway, taxiway, and taxi lane at all times.
• Carrying out daily checks on the airside work sites, preparation of daily inspection reports, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience as a WSHC, of which at least three (3) years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works
• Possess a WSQ Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or equivalent.
• Possess the Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSSC) certificate.
• Certification in “Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2)” or equivalent.
