JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Scope

• Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections of installations, fixtures, equipment, common areas, and property to ensure cleanliness, safety, and optimal working condition.
• Carry out minor building, mechanical, and electrical repairs, as well as general handyman tasks (such as replacing light bulbs, resetting drawer locks, etc.).
• Monitor and address maintenance service requests, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions for any equipment breakdowns or faults identified during routine checks, servicing, or maintenance.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of key facilities, systems, and critical areas.
• Oversee and coordinate the rectification of defects, maintenance, replacements, and upgrades performed by contractors.
• Supervise contractors and vendors carrying out maintenance work on building facilities (e.g., building maintenance, Mechanical & Electrical systems (M&E),horticulture, cleaning, pest control, etc.).
• Monitor utility consumption by recording water and electricity meter readings, and report any unusual or excessive usage.
• Assist in fire safety management, emergency response procedures, and the development of business continuity plans for the Authority's premises.
• Collaborate with the Authority’s staff on projects and maintenance work, ensuring adherence to fire, health, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with audio-visual and cleaning contractors to set up meeting venues, including arranging seating and equipment.
• Update and maintain information databases and records for engineering systems, including breakdown reports.
• Perform any other facilities management tasks or related duties arising from building operations and requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience in building operation and maintenance of building facilities.
• We welcome those with a minimum of a NITEC/Higher NITEC in Facility Management or Mechanical and Electrical Services or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical systems, uninterruptible power supplies, generators, FM200, fire alarms, sprinklers, as well as high and low voltage switchboards will be an advantage.
• Additional qualifications such as an Electrical Worker License, Singapore Certified Energy Manager (Associate), or Green Mark Facilities Manager certification are highly desirable.
• A self-motivated individual who works well independently and as part of a team, comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5.15pm

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance of plant equipment, building utilities, labs, DI station, and WWTP.
• Perform hands-on repair work on various equipment, including centrifugal, lobe, and air diaphragm pumps, tank control systems with agitators, and drum filling machines.
• Manage mechanical and electrical control panel tasks.
• Handle maintenance work orders within the SAP system.
• Preferably experienced in performing preventive maintenance on plant static and rotating equipment, as well as corrective maintenance and modification work.
• Contribute improvement ideas and support SQCDP and 5S initiatives.
• Supervise contractors for repair and project work, ensuring standards are met.

• Minimum 4 years of related working experience in electrical wiring troubleshooting and mechanical repairs in a chemical plant.
• Able to perform hands-on repair work.
• Able to understand mechanical hydraulic machine concept/ electrical wiring diagram.
• Prior working experience in waste treatment/ DI plant operation and milling machine would be a plus.
• Able to standby for cases of emergency calls or OT for weekends (if required)

Preventive Maintenance Technician- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain food production equipment

- Execute emergency breakdown protocols

- Assist in resolving downtime issues

- Clean equipment and maintain equipment hygiene requirements for production use, after installation and/or repairs

- Collate and coordinate maintenance work, at times need to work with contractor

- Comply with cleanliness and safety regulations while setting up and maintaining food manufacturing equipment

- Able to perform ad-hoc duty when require

- Basic electrical and refrigerator knowledge

- Prepare maintenance reports/records in relation to the work assignedRequirements

- Minimum 1 Year of experience in maintenance work and engineering field, preferable in food manufacturing

- “O” leave / NTC3 or NITEC in Mechanical Enginnering

- Able to performance Shift- Willing to learn new skills

- Positive work attitude

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate building maintenance project works.
• Plan and discuss with sub-contractors on project execution including implementation.
• Manage and supervise project works as well as oversee all workers, sub-contractors and vendors to ensure proper work execution and good workmanship.
• Execute project works based on the drawing / specification.
• Resolve any Clients and / or residents’ complaints / feedbacks.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with Clients, Consultants and Vendors on all project matters.
• Attend site meetings.
• Track work progress and submit progress report so as to ensure that the projects are executed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate the project work to ensure successful completion as well as hand over to the Clients.
• Maintain all the documentation for the projects.
• Coordinate and work with other departments as well as to supervise the project works.
• Follow the safety procedures, rules and regulations and eliminate or reduce hazard at the work place.

Job Requirements

(A) Education, Qualifications & Special Training :

• Degree or Diploma in Building / Certificate in Civil & Structural Engineering or related field.
• Job holder without the above qualification but with relevant experience would be considered.

(B) Knowledge & Skills :

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• PC literate and knowledge in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project)
• Positive and good working attitude, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• A good team player and willing to be stationed at the site office.
• Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license.

(C) Experience :

• Preferably 4 years working experience in Building Construction Industry.

• To assist the Maintenance Manager to implement the execution of preventive maintenance and repair schedules of all machinery, equipment and facilities and see to the proper execution by employee staff or external agencies or contractors.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to prepare the duty roster of maintenance staff.
• To conduct daily briefing of staff and assign duties to staff to carry out the necessary building operation and engineering works.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager in the execution of administrative duties such as inventory management, record keeping of engineering work / repair, etc.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure good housekeeping standard of the engineering workshop and that all safety procedures and rules are adhered to.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager to obtain quotations for all the necessary works by external agencies / contractors and for all necessary purchases from suppliers.
• To contribute towards cost management of the department and ensure that there are no wastage, negligence or dishonesty.
• To ensure that the staff in the department provides a high standard of engineering services which meets the expectations of the building owner / tenants / guests.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, to ensure that that the maintenance staffs are adequately deployed and that they are properly trained to discharge their roles.
• Mentor, coach & orientate new as well as existing staff in their roles & responsibilities towards the department goal.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, to assist the maintenance staff retention and to take appropriate measure in furtherance of staff stability.
• To ensure that effective fire safety, work place safety practices and enforcement of local Health & Safety regulations are met.
• Ensure to assist department to comply all authorities' requirement
• To ensure that Hotel management is satisfied with the quality of services rendered by the Engineering department.
• To ensure that the Hotels guests receive an adequate level of engineering services that satisfies their concerns and needs.

Job Requirement

• Candidate must possess a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent. Preferably with Engineering Degree.
• Preferably with minimum 3 years or more of experience in Engineering management in similar capacity
• Able to deal with suppliers / contractors / government bodies
• Able to manage various projects at any point of time.
• Exposure to purchasing, cost control beneficial
• Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel of computer for preparing reports
• Sound Knowledge of Hotel Engineering and Management
• Sound knowledge in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Engineering
• Possess skills in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of building equipment
• Good communication skills (verbal and written), able to resolve any conflicts.
• Good coaching skill, ability to lead the junior maintenance staff.
