Main Responsibilities

1. Coordinate maintenance contractors, review checklists and ensure customer D.O. sign-off within the time.
2. Support Data analytics team with ongoing improvement on automation of data gathering, analysis and reporting, including fault detection and root cause identification
3. Prepare and maintain comprehensive energy conservation action plan to include previous and ongoing efforts and short, intermediate and long-term goals
4. Prepare operational and maintenance schedule as per MIS
5. Work closely and collaborate with the customer support team to ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Identify potential upselling opportunities at client site during regular or ad-hoc maintenance
7. Remote monitoring of the system operation and performance and reach site if any emergency.
8. Familiarization of Refrigeration System Chillers & Freezers, Compressors, Cooling towers, FCUs, Cold room, ETV doors and related controllers.
9. Working with a team and deliver the work within the planned schedule.
10. Collect the onsite operating parameters like cold room and space temperature and verify with SCADA.
11. Collaborate with Internal teams regarding any controls and programming related onsite works.

Qualifications

1. Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical, Electrical or Equivalent
2. Electrical or Mechanical troubleshooting experience would be advantageous
3. HVAC knowledge of Chiller Plant, FCU, SCADA, Air side equipment
4. Strong communication and analytical skills.

Main Responsibilities

Maintain and monitor complex clients’ systems:

• Responsible for technical support for complex systems and problems, ensuring performance of the asset (client) is maintained throughout the course of the contract
• Collate and evaluate statistical data related to the performance of the assets
• Support Data analytics team with ongoing improvement on automation of data gathering, analysis and reporting, including fault detection and root cause identification

Manage responses to emergency situations:

• Facilitate responses to emergency situations and recovery activities
• Evaluate and provide fast resolution to critical field performance issues
• Visit sites to diagnose BBP operational issues and develop resolution plans for complex cases that cannot be easily resolved
• Review and approve recommended repair works for major equipment and system failures
• Check performance deviations and define root cause for any performance issues and to escalate to either Engineering or Performance team, as needed.

Provide oversight on maintenance work:

• Responsible for the planning of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure BBP equipment and client systems are fully functional and in optimal operating condition, preserving BBP energy savings
• Optimise maintenance plans and schedules for inspection, testing, repair and predictive maintenance of equipment and systems to minimise downtime and costs
• Provide technical guidance on equipment and systems maintenance
• Endorse resourcing requirements to achieve operational state in accordance with BBP expectations
• Drive internal and subcontractor compliance with the health & safety standards and practices

Support Customer Support/Business Development teams in creating further business opportunities:

• Foster close collaboration with Customer support team to ensure client performance and satisfaction
• Advise customer support team to correct inefficient uses of energy, both technically and procedurally and to support with data justification
• Identify potential upselling opportunities at client site during regular or ad-hoc maintenance

Organise and develop the team:

• Coach and train Central Maintenance engineers
• Drive talent recruitment and development for the department in alignment with organisational strategy

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Energy or Environmental Engineering.
• Possess people management experience
• 2-5 years’ experience in an Energy or Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage
• Professional Energy/Sustainability related certification a plus
• Qualification in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning and Energy Management will be an added advantage
• Well versed with HVAC systems, basic knowledge, good understanding on ACMV system and equipment
• Ability to understand piping and ducting and to oversee installation of instrumentation works (power meters, temperature sensors, and pressure sensors).
• Strong written and oral communication skills for customer interaction and report writing
• A willingness to learn and work in a team environment with extensive contact with clients
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously
• Self-starter with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• High level of initiative with the ability to work under pressure and extended hours, if required to meet deadlines

• Assist the Operations Manager/Executive & Building Supervisor on a day to day operations
• Attend to the breakdown of the air-conditioning system, plumbing and electrical issue
• Attend to complaints, calls and queries from tenants on operation related matters
• Troubleshoot some minor technical / facility problems
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to maintenance work schedule
• Conduct daily inspections (checklist)
• Recommend and suggest preventive maintenance or repair to the Operations Manager/Executive & Building Supervisor to minimize emergency breakdown of service
• Carry out joint inspections with the term service provider during the regular servicing
• Supervise to ensure that repair and replacement work are carried out properly by a term service provider or contractor in a timely manner
• To supervise & monitor term service providers & contractors to make sure they comply with workplace safety & health legislation, guideline & code of practice
• To sign off service provider service report
• To assist in Marcom events when necessary such as sound system & lightings
• To call & coordinate M&E breakdown with the service provider
• To inspect daily for units under fitting out during fit-out period and units under reinstatement
• Check the vacant unit/units which are taking-over or handing-over, to draw up technical / building specifications eg. to confirm the electrical / exhaust capacity, water & drainage provisions etc.

What’s the role?

As an Instrument/Quality Measuring Instrument (QMI) Field Execution Engineer/Assistant Engineer, you will be based in Shell Pulau Bukom under Maintenance Department with key accountabilities as the following:

• Provides day-to-day hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting including contractor/ specialist management for all Instrument/QMI maintenance related matters.
• Responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance works and ensuring plant equipment availability including instrumentation, control valves, analysers and the control system.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation and control system malfunctions, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment by calibrating instruments, replacing components, and conducting routine checks.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures to ensure system integrity and performance.
• Analyse and interpret control system data to identify potential issues and optimize system performance.
• Support the development and implementation of upgrades and modifications to the instrument and control systems.
• Compliance to HSSE standards and requirements to make Shell Pulau Bukom a safe place to work, and accountable for all assigned Critical activities.
• Perform Authorized Applicant and/or Authorized Engineer as per Permit to Work (e-PTW) requirement.
• Participate in Asset Management System (AMS) & Maintenance Execution (ME) assessment and determine Instrument/QMI equipment maintenance task and schedule.
• Participate Field Acceptance Test/ Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT) and Functional testing to ensure equipment are meeting the design intent when required.
• Perform Instrument/QMI equipment condition monitoring & liaise with relevant subject matter experts (SME)/ specialist/ OEM to address any arising issues, problems & concerns.
• Prepares job specifications and costing for works involved and apply work clearance / permit for work execution.
• Participate and execute for Turnaround (TA)/ Pit-stop (PS) events in related Process Units (PUs).
• Maintains work requests and records on maintenance works using computerized maintenance management systems, GSAP-PM.
• Maintain accurate documentation for instrument and control systems, server systems, and maintenance activities. to ensure all equipment technical records and drawings are updated to reflect the latest changes.
• Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget of the section to ensure achievement operational targets of section.
• Attend Standby Duty callout to an Emergency work upon request

• Assistant Engineer position: Minimum NITEC Level 2 certification in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical
• Engineer position: Minimum Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Instrument construction/ Maintenance in oil & gas, chemical/ petrochemical or related industries.
• Knowledge in basic control system and/or functional logic is an advantage.
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot instrument and control system malfunctions.
• Experience with calibration of industrial instrumentation.
• Understanding of control system principles (PLC, DCS) and communication protocols (OPC, Fieldbus, Modbus, HART, Vnet).
• Able to understand PID and have knowledge of instrumentation and control element

• SAP (GSAP) knowledge in Maintenance Module.

Where you fit in

Purpose of the Maintenance Technician (Instrument) is to carry out hands-on maintenance and coordinates maintenance work related to instrumentation in Production Unit (PU). The role assures that activities on the weekly schedule, emergencies or assigned non routine maintenance work are executed with quality and efficiency and in compliance to the site Health, Safety and Environment requirements.

Accountabilities include:

• Provide day-to-day hands-on maintenance/troubleshooting of instrument related matters in PU.
• Ensure compliance of engineering practices and assets with statutory obligations, Engineering Codes of Practices and Shell DEP standards.
• Review and communicate daily / weekly schedule assignments with workforce. Plan / execute / obtain resources, materials, services, and equipment for E and SB priority work repairs.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, Monitor and feedback on the maintenance effectiveness process and take corrective action if required, GSAP administration of time sheets, service, purchase, and material orders. Lead in the timely daily maintenance schedule execution, E/SB work order planning, E/SB reviews, daily updates
• Liaise with/consults Operations, Technology, other Engineering and Procurement departments as part of the execution of jobs
• Initiate and plan to upgrade instrument systems before obsolescence and deteriorations beyond repair.
• Perform end of day schedule progress (percent complete, MCMP, TECO and approve actual hours)
• Ensure completion of QA / QC and condition reports. Field presence and supervisor of maintenance contractor (craft productivity and quality of work) for effective and efficient execution
• Manage the activities in the hard schedule, adopting small adjustments or deviations where necessary. Feedback jobs that roll-over into next week(s) to the scheduler. Identify risks for not achieving schedule and taking mitigating action, keeping maintenance supervisor / team lead informed. Feedback to maintenance planning and scheduling
• Timely request to operations for maintenance permitting Analyze and trouble-shoot instrumentation problems
• Update and maintain spare parts inventory
• Seek improvement in techniques, procedures and technology to improve reliability at minimum costs and within budget.
• Report and recommend improvement on recurring problems/breakdowns
• Involve in scheduled safety walkabout
• Assess the risk of all day to day jobs that is carried out Develop formal JOHAN with all relevant parties for jobs with medium and high risk
• Full compliance with LSR & Safety Rules at all times to achieve Goal Zero
