What You Would Get To Do

• In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a well-known technology company. The Event Technician will be responsible for executing the technical production for mid-level events requiring support with Audio/Video, staging, lighting and design needs. The role requires strong technical understanding and practical experience operating event production systems, with extensive experience in A/V and technical direction for both corporate events and live experiential events.
• For events, the goal is to provide a seamless technology experience to all attendees, press and partners, as well as create an efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors. In this role you’ll work with internal teams as well as external clients and vendor partners on a daily basis.

Your Contributions

• Operate event production equipment including but not limited to Yamaha CL 5, ETC CS20-AV lighting console, Ross Carbonite, and PTZ camera controller
• Provide feedback to facility Team Lead on event production equipment usage and efficiency including but not limited to Yamaha CL 5, ETC CS20-AV lighting console, Ross Carbonite, and PTZ camera controller
• Actively liaise with the event production Team Lead to provide feedback and suggestions on possible enhancements and improvements to the space
• Identify to Team Lead new and alternative ways of approaching FIRST’s technical production offering to clients
• Manage client expectations on production challenges, proactively providing solutions
• Coordinate and support building of staging and A/V set up on-site as required
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of a hi-tech conference venue
• Provide full event production support including but not limited to forwarding slide decks, video playback, live stream coordination, graphic support, multi camera operation,
• Basic editing of video footage to provide clients with recordings of their event
• Coordinate with systems engineers on troubleshooting and incident resolution
• Provide white glove customer service to clients and stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years’ experience within the technical event production/broadcast environment
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
• Must be fluent in English
• Ability to work onsite
• This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus as required
• Full understanding of audio visual technology and advancements including lighting, audio/video output, rigging and power
• Proficiency with LED walls and WATCHOUT, is highly preferred
• Experience working with the following equipment/tools is helpful but not required: Yamaha CL series desks; Final Cut ProX; Keynote; Google G-Suite; ETC Ion lighting desk; Crestron Control systems, ROSS Carbonite desks, Panasonic PTZ camera controllers, Dante Controller, Shure Wireless Workbench, PlaybackPro, and Clear-Com systems, Meyer Galileo.
• Proficient in the technical delivery of high-quality events
• Video output experience with strong technical understanding of systems
• Experience operating event production systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must to build and maintain relationships
• Ability to prioritize while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
• Ability to manage many projects at once with varying levels of production
• Knowledge of PTZ cameras and controllers
• Knowledge of livestream/ broadcasting (especially streaming to the internet)

Administrative and General

• Assume responsibility for own environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies while having clean smart surroundings
• Work intelligently and ensure that team management is aware of problems or issues which negatively affect productivity
• Build excellent relations with the team, clients, vendors, and key venues through positive communications
• Ensure knowledge is shared within the team to enable them to work smarter
• Work on ad hoc requests as required, typically during quiet time

Job Descriptions:

* Familiar with analytical systems such as O2, Ammonia, pH, TOC, TRC, Conductivity and etc Analyzer, and instruments (PIT, TIT, FIT, etc)

* Coordinate with internal team, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.

* Supervise and lead Installation and Commissioning and initial calibration of various Analyzer, instruments, sensors, etc. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning.

* Perform Electrical & Pressure Tests, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)

* Perform site commissioning for instrumentation & Control System, analytical systems and project-related jobs

* Carry out preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of analytics systems services

* Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date, technical documents, not limited to installation report, testing and commissioning report, etc

* Ensure all installations & commissioning meet customer specifications and industry standards.

* Ad-hoc engineering support to customer when required.

* Willing to work on fast pace environment.

Job Requirements:

* Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification)

* Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills

* Preferably 3 - 5 years of working experience or more in the analytical instruments or related field.

* Knowledge of analyzers, instrumentation would be advantageous.

* Able to work independently and write effective good service report

* Good work experience with Hart communicator, calibration, and PLC/SCADA would be advantageous

* Good planning and time management skills to achieve job efficiency.

* Customer orientated with a positive attitude

* Ability to work well with others in a team environment, providing input and feedback in a helpful manner.

* Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, Pro-active and able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks when required.
