• Perform troubleshooting and repair on-site as needed to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
• Participate in routine disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to other departments as required.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call/standby duties as required to support 24/7 data center operations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong understanding of data center operations, including server hardware, networking, and storage systems.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of networking protocols and hardware (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers).
• Proficient in using monitoring tools to track system performance and identify potential issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Availability for overtime and standby shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• To perform job assignments by selecting, applying, and maintaining various service tools correctly.
• To perform installation of electrical switches, sensors, transducers, transmitters, current transformers, alternator components, control panels, etc.
• To perform installation of engine wiring as accordance with the drawings provided (Optional for mechanical technician but it is ideal to acquire the experience).
• To disassemble and assemble engine components i.e., oil pump, water pump and cylinder head, etc. (Inclusive of the engine overhaul experience).
• To perform fuel injectors installation.
• To perform engine timing and valve lash adjustment.
• To assist and perform mechanical works i.e., installation of radiator assembly, couplings, engines, alternators, gearbox, piping, hoses, etc.
• To assist and perform alignment works for radiator assembly, engine, and alternator installation.
• To prepare generators for load test.
• To perform safety devices test and load test including the recording of the required parameter readings.
• To perform ET tool connection onto engine to view diagnostic codes and events and file date (Optional but it is ideal to have the experience).
• To perform general servicing on engines and alternators.

Requirements:

• Possess an ITE or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant practical hands-on experience in heavy duty diesel or automobile mechanics (It is ideal to have marine or offshore exposures).
• Proper apprenticeship training with a reputable engine-related organization will be considered.
• IT knowledge will be of advantage.
• Programmable Logic Control knowledge will be of advantage.
• Knowledge of the engine and alternator systems to perform troubleshooting when problems arise.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic Staring System, Marine Gearbox, AC Power Alternator, alignment, control panel.
