Job Title: Fleet Supervisor
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the company’s fleet to ensure timely and efficient courier services. This role includes managing drivers, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and coordinating vehicle maintenance and route optimization to enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Operations Management:
- Monitor and manage the daily activities of the company’s fleet, ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently.
- Plan and allocate routes to drivers for optimal delivery performance.
- Maintain real-time tracking of fleet movements and address operational issues promptly.
2. Driver Management:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate drivers to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies.
- Schedule shifts and manage driver availability.
- Address driver concerns and resolve conflicts or issues.
3. Vehicle Maintenance:
- Oversee regular servicing, repairs, and maintenance of all vehicles to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure drivers adhere to traffic laws.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety training sessions for drivers.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, fuel consumption, and delivery metrics.
- Monitor and control fleet expenses to stay within budget.
- Maintain up-to-date records of licenses, permits, and insurance for all vehicles.
6. Customer Service Support:
- Collaborate with the customer service team to address delivery-related issues.
- Ensure timely updates on delivery statuses to meet customer expectations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in logistics, transportation, or related fields.
- Proven experience in fleet or logistics management, preferably in the courier or transportation industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and local transportation regulations.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, with frequent visits to the fleet yard and fieldwork as needed.
- May involve working extended hours, including weekends, during peak periods.
