• The Event Management Team Lead will assume a key role within the organization by leading and motivating colleagues in a way that enhances working relationships and encapsulates FIRST values and our client’s brand. The individual will ensure the project team delivers consistently exceptional service to our clients through excellent project management and delivers world-class events that exceed client expectations. Along with other FIRST team members, the Event Management Team Lead will represent the FIRST Solutions brand on-site within a well-known tech company. This position is ideal for a corporate event planning professional with prior experience managing and motivating team members.

Your Contributions

• The Event Management Team Lead works to coordinate staff assignments and workload for both onsite and digital events
• Reviews requests sent by event intake team and confirms space, approvals and other pertinent information prior to assigning
• Advise on the planning and execution of events for designated high profile groups, overseeing execution of larger scale events
• Support and coordinate the delivery of events as needed
• Handles event escalations
• Manages monthly audit reports as required by client and internal management
• Partner with the client on various strategic initiatives and projects
• Directly manage a team of direct reports
• Develop, mentor, and provide feedback to team members on an on-going basis
• Oversee workload of team ensuring day-to-day understanding of capacity/pressure points and assisting/offering guidance on team’s events where required
• Manage vacation schedules, ensuring appropriate team coverage and review all expense reports
• Oversee the on-boarding/off-boarding process for all employees
• Ensure team adheres to standard operating procedures and compliance processes
• Manage and promote communications to all team members to ensure maximum efficiency
• Partner with FIRST People & Culture on all company initiatives, recruiting, and employee relations matters
• Ensure the team maintains positive relationships with clients
• Ensure the team is providing value to clients and seeking value-adds where possible
• Encourage and motivate the team to be knowledgeable of best practices and services, and to be proactive with ideas and creative solutions

• 5+ years’ event management experience, preferably within a large venue, hotel, or event management capacity
• 2+ years’ experience managing or supervising a team
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
• Strong people management skills with the ability to lead by example
• This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus as required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels
• Decision maker and problem solver with a collaborative/team-player attitude
• Positive and caring approach to team management
• Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will embark on a 2-year accelerated development programme with rotations across selected departments/ teams to gain broad-based exposure and insight into the business. You will undertake stretch assignments, challenging projects and spearhead new initiatives under the mentorship of assigned coaches. After each rotation, you will share your learnings and recommend improvements to business processes to your coaches.

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university, specialising in Finance, Accountancy or related disciplines
• Global mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good analytical skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Enthusiastic, strong integrity, self-motivated and able to multi-task
• No prior working experience required
• Role will be based in Singapore for the duration of the 2-year programme. However, international mobility and willingness to travel is essential as you may take on international rotation or assignments to our overseas offices during the 2-year programme or upon completion of the programme.
