Project Background

SEC is leading the interdisciplinary Cooling Singapore 2.0 project. The project is dedicated to reducing the urban heat island and improving the outdoor thermal comfort in Singapore. The project has develop a Digital Urban Climate Twin (DUCT) for Singapore. This includes development, deployment and operations of the necessary technical infrastructure and integration of a variety of computational models for anthropogenic heat emissions and urban climate simulations. The project is entering its final phase where is testing and transferring the DUCT to external stake holders.

Task/Job description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our interdisciplinary and international team based at the Singapore ETH-Centre.

Your key responsibilities are:

- Model and simulate the impact of district energy systems (with a special focus on cooling technologies) to urban warming in Singapore.

- Test the Energy system models to fine tune their performance in side the DUCT and de-bug when needed.

- Scenario testing. Carry a sensitivity analysis of the Energy model to understand its performance.

- Integrate these optimization algorithms into the Digital Urban Climate Twin platform.

Requirements

You should have:

- Master’s or PhD degree in Operations Research, Energy Systems, Process engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

- A good command of scripting and data analysis languages (Python, Matlab, R) is preferred.

Role Summary

You will be responsible and focus on improving tool performance and availability, in charge of maintenance, diagnosing failures and implementing effective solutions to meet uptime and cycle time requirements in the Wet Etch module.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment performance in cleanroom environment for quality production.
• Handle on-duty tasks and conduct fundamental alarm troubleshooting; identify root cause and problem-solve critical equipment issues with urgency
• Install and qualify new tool sets on schedule to increase capacity promptly
• Continually improve tool uptime availability, drive defect reduction and enhance hardware capability
• Develop defense and monitoring system to prevent equipment failure or performance lost.

Education Qualification & Essential Experiences

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related STEM field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wet Etch equipment engineer, possessing in-depth knowledge. Experience working in a 12” fab would be advantageous
• Must be available to travel to Taiwan for a training period lasting 6 to 9 months

As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the DevSecOps culture who will combine software and systems engineering to build, package, release and integrate tools and applications that will strengthen and innovate in the Cloud space within the Oracle SaaS-at-Customer and OCI DRCC infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Team members will engage in operational activities including monitoring, installation, patching, and upgrading of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Fusion Applications, and Oracle database implementations.

Minimum Required Experience

• Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Disaster recovery, WebLogic, Identity Management, Apache/HTTP, Apex and Fusion Middleware and/or other Oracle technologies.
• Experience with cloud solutions and security engineering/design experience on one of the major cloud platforms AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI (preferred).
• Extensive experience in using Terraform for orchestrating application resources and infrastructure in CI/CD platform.
• Extensive experience in DevSecOps culture.
• Extensive experience with scripting and coding languages like shell scripting (must), Python (must), Ruby (plus), Go (plus) but not limited to.
• Experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Rundeck and Git.
• Experience with Release Management cycles and Git.
• Knowledge of storage (ZFS preferred), IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewall (F5).

Job Description

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor based on Yb-Ba ions. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertizing on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies is a pioneering quantum centre in the world offering a diverse research culture at the intersection of three different fields namely, theoretical, experimental Physics and computer science. The team members will work to build hardware for the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. This includes design and implementation of the modular and compact optical system for the laser beam modulation using acousto-optical and electro-optical modulators, delivery of the beams to the inside the vacuum chamber, and implementation of the diffraction limited optical system for ion imaging and addressing of the individual ions with the laser beams.

We are looking for several optical engineers to join the small team of scientists and engineers working on the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. The candidate should have:

• Ph.D. in optical engineering, physics or related areas;
• At least 1-2 years of experience in optical design, implementation and testing of the optical or laser systems is preferred.
• Experience in optical design, familiar with optical (for example, Zemax or OSLO) and mechanical (Autodesk or Solidwork) CAD software, able to assemble and test complex optical systems.
