This role requires good organizational/coordination skills and management of a team of electrical discipline engineers. Direct contact with the client and vendors will be necessary. The principle role of the Lead Electrical Discipline Engineer is to:
- Assist to plan, define, award and manage various Engineering Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design, as well as their timely issuance to support construction and integration activities.
- Assist to plan, define and award and manage Package Vendor’s technical deliverables and equipment delivery.
- Assist to plan and define refurbishment & life extension scope of work related to electrical discipline. This activity may involve site inspection of the candidate vessel and existing documentation gathering and cataloguing.
- Prepare project-specific discipline-related technical specifications and drawings with regards to all Client, Company and Classification Society requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Client basis of design and corporate specifications.
- Prepare, interface with client and maintain a deviation request list with regards to all Client specifications.
- Ensure that all contractors and vendors, and the overall project design meet the contractual, Classification Society and technical requirements related to electrical engineering discipline.
- Responsible for ensuring development and consolidation of electrical-discipline engineering registers/lists, using input from the other disciplines.
- Assist in interface engineering registers, P&IDs, calculations and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Studies recommendations and best practices.
- Provide technical discipline support to EIT System/E-House Contractor in conjunction with the EIT Package Manager.
- Interface with Operations to define, finalize and support the procurement of 2-year operation and capital where applicable.
- Assist trouble-shooting during construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning, through to start-up, and including during operating regime.
- Travel as required, including but not limited to shipyards in SE Asia region, China, Middle East region, other Yinson Offices (Oslo, Malaysia), candidate vessels (onshore/offshore), operational production units (offshore) and onshore support bases.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform as Technical Authority for Electrical Discipline Engineering.
- Ensure that project budgets are kept, and life cycle costs to Yinson are minimized and that project schedule is maintained.
- Manage the Engineering Contractors and Equipment Vendors. Follow-up and monitor Contractor schedule and progress and ensure any deviation is mitigated by corrective action coordinated with YP team.
- Interact with Client as required.
- Identify and ensure execution of the electrical discipline engineering scope of work in accordance with the legal obligations, contract terms, scope of work, technical requirements and company policy.
- Interact with and support the engineering contractors as required (including Marine Engineering, EIT System Engineering, Topsides Module Engineering, Integration Engineering, LQ Engineering, Shipyard Engineering, etc) and equipment/package vendors.
- Achieving resolution of multi-discipline equipment problems by coordinating with other discipline engineers and project engineering management team.
- Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging methodology improvements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.
- Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting, even when not directly in own discipline (taking a holistic approach to the project).
- Coordinate discipline issues between client, contractors, vendors and other relevant parties.
- Provide input to weekly/monthly progress reporting and other relevant status information as needed.
- Participate in audits and review processes as necessary.
- Interact with non-technical disciplines as required (document control, cost control, planning).
- Other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager.
QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:

- Report quality related problems and HSSE hazards or deficits within their area to the QHSSE department;
- Promote and take part in the QHSSE continuous improvement process.
Requirements
- Diploma in a technical subject.
- Good use of Word and Excel.
- Good use of Navisworks.
- Able to write Technical Reports.
- Good knowledge of International Standards and Class requirements.
- Experience of FPSO projects.
- Experienced in Electrical Discipline Engineering (10-years).
- Proven experience of reviewing & commenting on deliverables from contractors.
