Job Scope
The Process Engineer applies engineering principles and techniques to optimise the production processes in a manufacturing environment to meet organisational objectives. His/her work also includes troubleshooting process engineering issues and developing work instructions for out-of-control processes. He/she will be required to analyse manufacturing/maintenance issues and recommend engineering solutions.
In addition, the Process Engineer leads production and manufacturing systems improvement projects and is expected to develop operation plans per organisational objectives. He/she would also be required to ensure compliance with workplace safety, health and other regulatory requirements in his/her line.
The Process Engineer is required to have strong communication skills to collaborate with the production and maintenance team to meet organisational outcomes.
The process engineer will report directly to the Managing Director and Plant Manager.
Tasks
- Adopt new technologies to improve process monitoring.
- Develop work instruction and control plan.
- Enforce compliance with safety and good manufacturing practices and processes in production areas.
- Implement network solutions for production improvement.
- Investigate Out of Control (OOC) and improve the Process Capability (cpk).
- Investigate the root cause of process failures.
- Lead continuous improvement projects.
- Lead working level community exploring opportunities for improvement projects.
- Maintain quality assurance system.
- Manage manufacturing processes using statistical modelling.
- Monitor process performance data to establish good control parameters.
- Review the abnormality report.
- Troubleshoot process engineering issues.
- Conduct technical presentations to management and peers.
- Perform training.
Qualification and Experience
· At least a diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
· At least 3 to 4 years of work experience in the Electromechanical Industries as a process technician or associate engineer.
· Candidates with the following experience will be an advantage
o Recycling or refining industries (Incinerator, Crushing, Melting, Plating, etc)
o Project Management
· A team player to work alongside with peers
· Willingness to attend certain courses/licences such as Hazardous Materials Transport Driver (HMDR), WSH Work at Height etc on behalf of the company
· Willing to travel occasionally if required
· Any other duties and job scopes that may be assigned by the Managing Director/Plant Manager
· Class 3 driving licence (mandatory)
