Job Description

• Plan and supervise the maintenance team in the execution of assigned plant maintenance activities within schedule and cost, in compliance with regulatory and company's standards and requirements, in particular company's safety standards, as well as to develop staff capabilities using appropriate capability interventions and on-the-job training
• Supporting the Power Plant to meet the contractual, technical and commercial set-up and operation
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance carried out for all plant equipment and plant utilities
• Perform frontline troubleshooting on plant equipment defects and failure to maintain high availability
• Provide necessary guidance and advice to maintenance staff or external contractor to execute the maintenance work in a good engineering manner
• Daily maintenance manpower planning and allocation
• Maintain and update maintenance data and maintenance record for all plant equipment and plant utilities
• Check that PPE are provided and subordinates are utilizing it by executing works with all safety precautions

Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years work experience with equipment related to craft
• Knowledge in craft eg, Pumps, Compressors, HRSG , Valves , Fans and etc
• Experience involvement in technical aspects of Power Plant or Process Plant maintenance
• Good hands-on knowledge in performing Power Plant or Process Plant equipment maintenance
• Experience in the erection, commissioning and initial start-up phases of a modern Power Plant is an advantage

Job Responsibilities

• Assist Shift Manager to ensure safe shift operation of the assigned plant and manage non-operating activities and co-ordination with internal and external stakeholders on operating requirements to facilitate the smooth operation of the power plants and in compliance with regulatory and company standards and requirements
• Become a pro-active member of the Station Team
• Support the SCE; PSCE and Operations Manager to meet the contractual, technical and commercial set-up and operation of the Power Station
• Input to and liaison with the relevant Managers for long term Station planning
• Assist to implement modern O&M practices, tools and techniques for safe, reliable and efficient Power Station operation and to fully utilise all Power Plant’s contractual energy, fuel and utility supply agreements
• Act as Senior Authorized Person (SAP) in preparing, reviewing and issuing PTW (Permit To Work)
• Able to support the team during plant emergency situations and abnormal conditions
• To assist operation team to comply with PSO/SPPG/NGCC requirements and procedures
• To support SCE/PSCE to ensure plant load output according to Trader dispatch schedule
• Assist to establish and implement mandatory O&M policies and procedures to meet all Station, company and legislative requirements

Job Requirements

• A Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Control & Instrumentation Engineering preferred. Candidates with Diploma or NITEC qualifications with substantial experience in a similar role will be considered
• Minimum 6 years of Lead Technical Officer/ Operations Engineer ground experience in Power Station Operations on a CCPP
• Solid understanding, knowledge and experience of Combined Cycle Power Station operations
• Good understanding of Power Station commercial operation strategies in a deregulated electricity market and familiar with CCPP and Cogen performance analysis and optimisation
• General understanding of Power Station engineering design and construction is essential. Prior involvement in the technical and maintenance aspects of Gas Turbines and in the erection, commissioning and initial start-up phases of a modern Power Station will be valuable
• Strong safety mindset with detailed knowledge and experience in modern Health, Safety and Environmental practices

Job Scope and Duties include:

a) Monitoring of incoming emails and request for quotation and other administrative duties.

b) Study the Tender Documents to determine the Irrigation Scope of Works & Subsequently submit / respond to Tender Clarifications, Tender Addendums, etc.

c) Undertake Material Take-Offs and Bill of Quantities for the purpose of preparing proposals and tender submissions.

d) Drafting out the irrigated area using ACAD software, determine the water source, read the irrigation specification and outline the specific scope of works of each project.

e) Work out a preliminary irrigation design during proposal stage.

f) Prepare draft quotations including draft pricing based on standard rates.

g) Work together with Administration Staff to ensure all emails and quotation are addressed and sent out.

h) Follow-up on Tender corrigendum, addendums, clarifications and amend quotations if necessary.

i) Follow-up with Main Contractor’s QS during Tender Stage.

j) Assist the Project Management Team in claim submission and follow-up of regular payments.

Overall Job Purpose

• The engineer is to act as Electrical Commissioning Lead (entire Electrical Systems Lead), manage all Electrical system commissioning from preparation phase to execution phase.
• During commissioning preparation phase, responsible to attend Supplier Kick Off meetings to roll out package related commissioning requirements, review of Supplier documents, review ITR assignment and provide inputs for commissioning schedule.
• Prepare and review system boundary, commissioning procedures and commissioning deliverables.
• Support Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Project Engineer in the preparation of required tools, utilities, first fills and others for the commissioning activities of Electrical systems.
• Electrical Commissioning Lead is responsible for successful and safe commissioning of their area / system following the commissioning strategy set by Commissioning Manager.
• At times may act as a responsible commissioning engineer (owner) for few major systems in the area
• Work closely with MC Coordinator, Commissioning Coordinator for timely completion of the ITRs, mechanical completion and commissioning completion.
• Supervise day-to-day electrical commissioning activities are complied with Company’s Standards and Procedures.
• Identify and integrate Safety, Quality requirements in the electrical commissioning activities to ensure safe operability and maintainability.
• Understands the Completions philosophy and Scope of Work by studying the applicable industry standards, Company standards, specifications and procedures.
• Manages electrical commissioning PTW, electrical commissioning engineers, assigned technicians, operations support, supplier support and CLASS witness to execute the approved commissioning procedure including performance standards verification successfully, sign off the test reports and support for the system dossiers completion until handover.
• Studies the complex Company’s standards, business, operations and practices as well as engineering work matters/systems/procedures/standards within the tight project schedule in order to develop commissioning deliverables.
• Applies effective communication in discussions with various disciplines and departments in order to clarify complex information which is required as input for commissioning deliverables.
• Is expected to work independently and lead electrical commissioning team in order to complete the work schedule and fulfill the project timelines.
