• Conduct lessons and review teaching materials for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses.

• Ensure that new/existing teaching curriculum modules are aligned with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch-keeping (STCW) Convention and the practices of the maritime industry.

• Collaborate with industry to enhance students’ learning through activities such as industry field trips, student-industry projects, internship programs, and overseas programs.

• Serve as an advisory role to ensure equipment and training facilities are updated and operationally ready for practical training sessions to ensure an authentic learning experience.

• Provide mentorship and pastoral care to students, fostering their personal and professional development.

• Participate in Internal and External Quality Maritime Education and Training (QMET) audits to maintain and improve the quality of education.

Support polytechnic and school events, including education counselling, guidance, and outreach activities.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:-

• Holders of Deck Officer Class 1 Certificate of Competency issued by MPA or relevant authorities, or Master’s degree in Maritime Studies.

• At least 4 years of working experience within the maritime industry.

• Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.

• Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory; applicants with no teaching experience are welcome to apply.
