What will you be doing?
Argus’ core business is focused on developing, and promoting the usage of, Argus commodity prices indices. The primary function of Vice President, Business Development, Metals, Asia will be to support and drive price assessment and benchmark opportunities for the metals sector, which the company has identified as a significant new opportunity. This is a senior business development and high visibility role reporting into the SVP, Strategy & Business Development with a dotted line to the Global SVP and Head of Metals.
The role has responsibility for relationship building with influential stakeholders in key commodity markets.
The key measure of success for this role is demonstrable progress over time in the use of Argus prices in the metals markets in Asia and the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead a small team of business development managers.
· Executing on strategies and market development plans.
· Responsible for the commercial growth of the metals sector in Asia.
· Work closely with regional and global internal stakeholders to align with the Argus global vision for the metals sector.
· Special emphasis on activities in terms of building strong relationships with senior industry stakeholders and advocacy to increase likelihood of Argus price usage in markets.
· Be the key face of Argus in metals, promoting usage of Argus to clients, the governments, industry bodies etc.
Skills and Experience
· At least 15 years of professional experience in metals markets in Asia. Base metals experience preferred but not essential.
· Intellectual Dexterity: the ability to analyse complex problems and pick up new concepts and strategies quickly.
· Hands-on: Demonstrable experience of having worked in a high energy, fast growth, environment.
· Strong personal credibility and communication skills, accomplished in individual, group, business and social settings.
· Be able to balance an imaginative and highly creative approach while at the same time demonstrating the pragmatism that is needed to work and get things done in a high growth environment.
· Credibility: the ability to inspire trust and respect with key market stakeholders, including clients.
· Strong commercial awareness.

Travel

Hours
· Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
