We are looking for a creative Social Media Content Producer to join the social media team in Lianhe Zaobao's China News desk. In this role, you will produce content for Zaobao's Chinese audiences, and grow Zaobao's audiences on Chinese social media platforms, specifically TikTok.

You will be expected to:

● Create, shoot, edit, and publish engaging TikTok content tailored for Chinese audiences interested in current affairs, using formats like short videos and memes, to increase the brand awareness of Zaobao among the community

● Collaborate with producers, videographers, and editors to brainstorm, plan, shoot, and edit TikTok videos

● Design and produce visual assets for social media, including carousel posts, memes, and graphics

● Edit short videos independently

● Present content through on-camera hosting or skits

● Stay updated on the latest social media trends, platforms, and innovate content production to stay relevant

Requirements

● Degree/Diploma in Media Studies, Journalism, Communications, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design preferred

● Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese (written and spoken) as this role is for a Chinese publication

● Proven track record in creating short-form video content for platforms like TikTok, especially for current affairs or news topics; good understanding of Chinese culture and current events, as well as sensitivity to topics relevant to targeted audiences

● Possesses a strong sense of humour and creativity, enabling the quick development of engaging content

● Proficient in video shooting, lighting, sound, and framing for effective storytelling

● Skilled in using editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut) Competent in using graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) to create visual assets like memes, carousels, and graphics, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut) for creating polished, engaging videos

● Strong understanding of TikTok trends, algorithm, audience behaviour, and the Chinese social media landscape

● Has a willing-to-learn attitude, meticulous, self-motivated and is able to work independently as well as collaboratively with various stakeholders

● Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadline
